I'm so stoked about Sunday's trip, I need this bad!
Is there going to be a spot to do some target practice (pistol)?

Who is coming the farthest? I'm coming from Oak Harbor....

In regards to Target shooting.....yes and no. Yes in the sense it falls under the standard rules for shooting on public lands. No in regards to finding a safe place that meets the requirements in the actual off road area is difficult and really not recommended.

The main 4x4 loop is surrounded by other trails (single track) so not really a smart idea to shoot from the 4x4 loop.

Long as you follow the rules i could care less what a person shoots. Tahyua, Capital Forrest, and one other place I forgot are already on the DNR's radar due to people being poor sharers of the land.

I'd probably blame the UCA ball joint, it's been a few years... I know there was a distinct odd feeling when doing roundabouts when my UCA BJ was in need. When you separate the UCA from the spindle, you can grab the BJ and it should wiggle in its socket if it's bad.
This is one of those things you want to get on top of before driving much more, because the BJ could leave the socket... from what I've been told.

Tie rods are simple, rent the free tool from Autozone. Make sure to buy Toyota, I've heard going cheap is bad for this particular part.
I saw the writeup on doing the steering rack and it suuuuuucks. My mechanic didn't think it was fun, either.

~10,000 miles on my moog inners and they are toast. Dealer wanted $55/outer tie rod and $171/inner tie rod.. only bought their outer

Don't need any tools from autozone, just hit it with a hammer

Rule of thumb is to do outer and inner at the same time, since they are most likely going to need it at the same time.

I'm not sure what you are banging on, but the socket tool that Autozone has makes doing the inner rod very easy.

Didn't know there was a inner tie rod tool.. just know about the puller for the outer tie rod which is what you hit on to realease it. Well the flat side of the spindle.

5 lug. Would have to get wheel adapters if you wanted to run 6 lug.
