I don't have a very deep understanding of construction or related terms, but hopefully my explanations make sense and pics can sort any confusion or information I can't provide verbally. :anonymous:

I thought of this once also, and left the bedroom door open and the ceiling fan turned on and it didn't provoke any change.

For that matter, I almost always have a HEPA filter running overnight in the bedroom and it's near the window (5 ft away, maybe) and it moves quite a bit of air. The fan is exhausted at the top of the unit.

So something like my ceiling fan, and an additional fan blowing air out of the bedroom from the doorway?

You're house just may too tight. Not enough air flow. Someone may have caulked and sealed every little Crack and hole there was.

    Too much interior moisture

Does your microwave range hood just vent back into your house ?

Ok i see where Santa Rosa is. Cool nights lol

Since yer location I gotta rule out there's no hydro garden humidifying yer place before we can proceed lol

Seriously tho sounds like air exchange might be too low. And something's making more moisture in your house than your neighbors' places

Yup this. We just did a set of housing units where they sealed up all the units really well and ended up being problematic as they were holding in too much moisture

Could be, in some ways. Until I moved here I never knew air could blow out of electrical outlets, though. :notsure:

Yup. Even when we don't cook dinner here, no change in morning condensation.

    :D

    Negative, ghost rider.
Without central air, that limits me to opening windows, right? Which I can't do in winter time.

If your windows are thermopane units and are condensating , you have excess interior moisture levels

Is your condensation issue more pronounced in your unheated bedroom than in other areas of the house ?

    Reserected from the dead.
    Late to the party.

Basement or crawl space? No vapor barrier is going to supply lots of moisture.

Didnt know it would do the whole "detect a phone" thing.

I can do that from a wifi regular thermostat that is a third of the cost though.

Just trying to understand what makes them so special is all. All ive really gotten from most reviews is the "im to lazy to set a program myself so this is awesome" type people raving about it.

Now when i build a house (way down the road) I do want a Nest/Ecobee or whatever else is out there since I plan on a lot of home automation going into the home so Im not trying to sound like Im bashing them. Just trying to see how I could convince myself a ~250 dollar thermostat would be worth it for me right now

I'm not a big fan of the privacy concerns with the Nest system
