    This might be a stupid question....

    If you have it installed on your left turn signal - wouldn't it beep everytime you're using your left turn signal?

    It de-activates when the engine switch is turned to "on". It has a switch on it so when/if you use your hazards with the engine off, you can switch it off so it wont beep.

    I have thought about getting one of these a few times now...

    Everytime I stop because i don't like the fact that i have to get out anf flip a switch if i want to use my hazards with my key off.

    has anyone done into the electrical to know what wire sends the lock or unlock from the remote unit? that way the same thing would happen you would get a single conformation beep for lock and a single or double conformation beep for unlock (depending on if you unlock just the drivers or or all doors.)

    Thats a good idea, and I thought about it before getting this unit. But, I caved and just bought it. Its a Toyota, how often do you really need your hazards. :D

    Not a lot but when i am loading or unloading ATVS- Jet Skis etc... I often leave them on... ( most of the time the truck is running but... its the idea)

    I may dive into a door panel one day and see if i can find the culprit and see if it produces a 12V signal and if so the Morse Mod would be made...

    You guys are installing your boxes in the engine bay? Do you think the guy would build a box without the switch - but with wires coming out so you could install the switch in the cab instead?

    Or is the box easy to take apart and remove the switch?

    Is there a volume control to lower the beep?

    I still cant figure why they didn't make the beep stock. My other car used to have the option to beep or make it silent through the remote. Easy to change.

    Has anyone ever heard of the CompuStar alarm? It is at http://www.compustar.com/main.htm. My buddy was just in town and had one on his Titan. The range and features are unbelievable.

    I also have one. One of the things that I noticed on the box is that he drilled out the screw heads in an attempt to make it hard to take apart. My box is in the engine bay. I've noticed that occasionally I won't get a chirp and I've attributed that to the moisture getting in there. It uses wire taps out the box, but I'm thinking that I'll solder the signal line on there and then tape it.

    I believe that the box just has a relay and a chirper in there. I would think that the relay is going to normally on, so that when your car is on it is off. Then when you turn your car off, the relay is on. Then the power comes in from the temporary light flash. Yeah, you could probably make one, but it will probably just be easier for you to order one.

    yeah, they should have made it stock. My wife's car doesn't beep until you press the lock button a second time. That would be ideal.
