Are they always backlit, or only when on? I have one waiting to go in under the HVAC. Any installation tips on getting access to that area?

They're tied into the dash lights for the bottom of the switch. The top is lit when on.

+1, I tied in to the green wire on my unused heated seat plug. I used an inline splice for the lightest gauge wire that I could find. The green and green/white power the dash lights but forget which is + and which is -.

The same shit everyone else has.
Running that much power through a 3amp switch will cook it.

Thanks for the pics guys. I'm not sold on the Mictuning switches. They look ok, but you can tell they're aftermarket.

I do not really remember if I ended up with the Mictuning or the CH4x4. I was looking at both. I think they are very similar. Yes you can tell they are aftermarket but I wanted different graphics for driving versus spots. They fit perfect in the holes and that was my main concern. You can get an OEM switch but you will be limited on graphics.

Did you have to remove the radio unit to modify those switches or just take the hvac (and change holder) panel off?? I'm about to attempt adding two toggle switches down there

I didn't. I carefully pried out the blanks and fished wires from back side. I also pushed out the ATRAC switch and relocated.

I have one with white LED backlighting for my front LED bar.

Switch is located under HVAC controls. Wired with relay and it's been reliable for 3 months.

LED is too bright, but with the location under the HVAC controls I don't notice it too much (it's only wired to be on when switch is ON).

The switch feels cheap, looks a little cheap, but it is also cheap to buy. I'm happy with it for now, a $70 OE fog switch wasn't worth it for me and how little I use my LED bar. If you use your offroad lights ALOT, I'd probably put my $.02 in that the OE switch option would be worth it. For occasional use...the Mictuning *should* work just fine for ya.

I wired mine with bullet connectors. If I do have a switch fail it will be a quick swap.

This that and the other thing.
it didn't fit under the hvac, only fit left of the steering wheel.

    EDIT: http://your4x4store.com/product/toyota-small-usb-power-socket/
Says it fits 12-14 center console. if you have an earlier year I would email them and ask about fitment.

My buddy and I installed my switch next the to the a-trac yesterday and it involved us completely removing the center console in order to be able to pry back the lower dash plastic and squeeze our hand up in there.. you must have much more finesse lol.

Did you replace a blank or a switch?

Yeah that one looks horrid, want one that sits flush - would rather just charge off the 12v cig lighter port.

Looks good. You didn't have to modify the panel to get them in? I just tried installing a mictuning rocker and it doesn't fit lhs panel or under hvac. Maybe I bought the wrong ones...
