    No. That would do nothing.

Like a chevy leaf cut down to size. Or a leaf from an Alcan pack. Something like that.

@TacoVio this. If I recall correctly, there's a decent amount of people running a chevy leaf on the forum.

I stacked two stock leaves in my stock pack and they handle the weight pretty well they just aren't meant to provide lift. For what it's worth I'm sitting about level with id guess 1.5" of lift. I think my front has sagged a good bit over the years.

They've lost some of their pep since we've built them, but have been really happy with them. Going to rearch and/or rework them this spring.

Not very many good options for off-the-shelf leafs for our trucks.

Just curious, any reason you didn't put any friction pads in?

that's kind of a new age thing. They aren't really necessary and prolly cause more noise than they they cancel when sand gets embedded in them. I never had squeaky springs, in any vehicle, Jeeps or Scouts, or Chevy's, until they started putting the pads in.

Good to know. When I added leaves to mine it was a pita trying to drill through them. Mine are quite though.

Speaking of springs, I noticed my passenger set doesn't sit completely flush after the aal install. Anyone have input as to why there is a slight gap between the new leaf and the original on it was placed atop? Something as simple as not being tightened down enough?

Sorry I haven't been involved in my thread. Back in South Dakota at the moment as my girlfriends grandpa isn't doing too well.

I think they cause more harm than good, being they add a little gap between the leafs to allow dirt in. When Old Brett and I put together my current pack, I ditched the friction pads and beveled the ends of each leaf. My truck makes all sorts of noises, but none from the leafs.

Where's the gap? Probably the AAL having more arch than the rest of the pack, so it's pushing up from the ends. If so, leave well enough alone and it will settle in.

Sorry, Brett. Didn't see your reply. The gal is between the aal and leaf below it IIRC. I'll double check tomorrow though

Received some goods in the mail tonight. Managed to get the UV82HP programmed with the CO HAM file, so happy about that. Hoping to get the radio and relating items installed in the rig in a couple weeks.

Don't let the fancy pieces of equipment fool you... I still have a lot to learn. Just scratching the surface and hope to take the technicians test next month.

Need to step up to a HAM radio one of the days. Need more room in my cab, and not wanting to go the handheld route and still be limited to the same wattage output as CB. Maybe I can get a detachable faceplate in the headliner. :notsure:
