Well I can't take the stock exhaust sound anymore so I decided that I need to start looking for a system that I'd like. So my truck is the 3.4l but I hate the sound of 6 cylinders so I was wanting the deep rumble of a v8 with a quite a but of loudness too and wanting dual exhaust. Thinking maybe a nice glass pack but I don't really know. Any input would be helpful

Never going to make a v6 sound like a v8. Dont touch your muffler if you are wanting a v8 sound out of a v6. You will just be disappointed

I saw a video on YouTube that was the perfect sound but of course I didn't save it and I can't find it anymore

I have a flow master on mine as well, I believe a 40, not positive. Previous owner put it on, but I think the receipt for it was only like $70. They're cheap and sound pretty good, not overly loud, but have a nice sound when you get on it. Slight freeway drone that makes you feel like you need to up shift though.

Overall I'm happy enough with it that I wouldn't bother changing it really. Better then stock IMO

buy headers, and then a muffler of your choice.... me personally with the 4.0 I have no muffler, I doubt the 3.4 would sound as good without a muffler

I run a magnaflow and love it. It is quite at idle (low deep rumble) but the more you get on the gas the louder and better it sounds. My gf has a flowmaster 40 on her 3rd gen 4runner and it sounds goodbat lower rpm but you go over 3000 and it sounds like trash

I also run a Magnaflow and love the sound of it. Like 757yotas said not a loud rumble when idling but when you give it gas it has a nice loud rumble to it.

I straight piped mine with a dual tip and shortened it to come out in front of the back tire. It sounds awesome. Loudest truck at my school and everyone here drives v8 trucks with duals. It crackles to when shifting down. It starts to pop around 2,500 to 3000 rps. I love it. I get told all the time that its the best and loudest toyota tacoma they have heard. Im sure straight piped with duals off the back would sound pretty loud to. Heres my setup. 20161028_170513.jpg

I had glass packs on before. It made it loud but not deep tone loud. It had no deep tone to it. It also never popped or crackled
