Never played and don't want to be upset since they are so dated.

    upset over what?

HL2 series are amazing and the graphics hold their own considering how old it is. Was a break through game in facial mapping. And it is super fun. Puzzle/FPS game. Think Portal like as Portal is part of the HL story line.

Valve isn't a gaming studio anymore. Deal with it. They made more on skin sales last year in CS:GO then they made on games.

Talking about Old School I'm playing Jedi Knight Dark Forces 2 right now. Great games never age even if the graphics aren't good the game play will keep you drooling.

BTW I love half life and hate Valve. Steam succeeding and CS:GO gaining God level status in the Esport world ruined their motivation to release new games.

Yeah. Instead of sub machine guns, you fight with pokemans.

CounterStrike: Global Offensive. It's basically the latest Counterstrike game and the only one still officially supported by Valve. Long and short there are skins in the game that are randomly dropped but far more often come in cases, which are randomly dropped, that you have to pay money in the game to open. In order to get the really good looking or rare skins you end up unlocking a lot of cases, I've probably dropped over $100 myself just unlocking cases. Now the skins, and yes we are talking about the paint job on the gun or knife here lol, are worth anywhere from a penny to over $10,000. Yup, you heard me right. Some really rare items in perfect condition in a video game can fetch thousands of dollars in real money. I myself sold a pair of gloves, yes gloves the characters wear in the game, for over $500 US. Cash through paypal. Now, everytime one of those items is sold a certain percentage goes back to valve. These sales happen at the rate of thousands per day. So Valve now makes money off of trying to get skins whether you buy/sell them or unlock them yourself. Last year Valve reported that 60% of their income came just from these transactions...

So that's why Valve doesn't care about making video games anymore. In the game industry if you can make 60% of your money doing absolutely nothing and another 30% of your money selling other peoples games then, yeah, what motivation is there to spend millions of dollars on a new game title?

Oh and I should mention that CounterStrike is played daily online by tens of thousands of player who bet real money on the E-Sports version of the game which happens to be about 10-20x the size of any COD tournament. It's a self sustaining industry at this point, though it's starting to die slowly because of the amount of cheating in the lower ranks.

Next time it's on Steam sale pick up CS:GO but only if you like extremely difficult PVP FPS games. CS:GO is super simple to pick up and play but frustratingly hard to get good at. It's worth at least knowing what the hype is about.

Like it yes. Love it no.

I'm simply pretty pissed off that Valve found a way to milk the system for millions of dollars which has turned them into the laziest fucks when it comes to new games. I loved Half Life and I doubt I'll ever see another Half Life game. Well, not until CS:GO falters or Steam becomes irrelevant and what are the odds that happens?

I'm sorry did someone say Pokémon GO is on Steam? And you can buy skins for your Pokémon? And Valve makes money?
