Just tried ordering from Olathe Toyota and Brett indicated I would need a VIN from an existing vehicle with the textured black one standard for him to order the proper one to swap out on my Inferno?? The VIN indicates the color to order, since this is a swap in wont work without an existing vehicle code. HELP!?!?!?

    Just order this one:
    53911-04210

This is the one I ordered, and it's the same exact textured one that comes on the OR trucks.

Exactly, but he said it was coming up as the limited model and he needed the VIN to match the color. So it seems I need the VIN for an OR for him to order correctly. Does anyone want to offer up their OR VIN # so I can get this ordered. Otherwise I need to troll a lot to find one which may take a week or so. Is there any other Olathe salesman that can help me out that knows the issue?? Thanks in advance.

Sounds like he's just being a dunce. Just go online to your favorite Toyota retailer and order 53911-04210. This is the exact textured one that comes in the OR.

Stop playing his games. Just order from elsewhere, I ordered mine from Conicelli Toyota and had it in a few days.

I've been through the same song and dance with a local dealer when ordering parts too. I knew exactly what I wanted, yet - they demanded a VIN for compatibility reasons. It's almost like they are no longer humans capable of thinking - just robots repeating commands.

I ordered mine in textured black with my sport vin#. I think he might have been having a bad day, they usually have great customer service there.

    Simple solution...
Walk out the door, and find any Off-Roads on the lot. Take a picture of the vin and hand it to to parts manger inside. Done :D

Just picked up what I think is the black "textured" trim. Appears fairly smooth to me, similar to the other trim on the vehicle around the lights, grill, etc.. How "textured" is it supposed to be?!?!?! Any close up photo's available.

I just installed mine and it's kind of a smooth textured look and feel.

This is the textured trim for the OR model.

Sweet looking ride. The black trim gives a good contrast. What's your suspension?

Every see someone come in and start ripping the parts counter guys a new set of azzholes when the part the customer "knew what he needed" didn't fit and the parts guys can't take it back?

While I don't presume to know exactly what happened in your situation, I'm not going to blame those guys for trying to be damned sure the part the customer "knows he needs" is in fact the correct part.

    Bingo. :)

Of course I solved the matter by simply buying the OR in the first place. :)

Dammit! Mine appears much smoother. Do they sell it in unpainted black that is different from textured black??? The parts guy seemed sure of what he was ordering. What's on an SR-5?

The one for the sport is sold as smooth. I said the same thing about the Toyota parts guy I dealt with. He was dead wrong.
