What is Up with the mf mitts when they encounter a rough or raised surface??? I've been trying to do a lot right with simple washing & detailing. using alotta Meguiare products etc. so, when I washed my taco things were looking Beautiful! then, I looked at the tonnuea cover after washing & it looked like it was growing Grass! the green mf mitt of mine was All Over the rough surface, & it's happened to me before on wifes car - the certain blck plastic around her side view mirrors - same situation. anyone experience this?? Help!!!

I would try washing it and if it still sheds I would get a better one, maybe from AutoGeek.com

They come in different "grades". Some are low pile some are high pile, the way the fibers are woven. Some pick up better than others and some are finer. I use a shammy (don't know how to spell it) for drying and then the microfiber towels for detailing.

Yes, for sure. I am assuming you are using the mitt with the microfiber fingers. I would recommend washing it in the washer with liquid detergent and see if that removes loose fibers. Also, using the two bucket wash method with Grit Guards will aid in this as well as ensuring contaminants from your vehicle are removed from your mitt. The Chemical Guys mitts from Amazon are decent quality, although I don't use one of this style.

I use the Meguiar's microfiber wash mitt: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000RXKR6M/ref=psdc_15718691_t3_B003TTL0TE

I like it because it's white and allows me to see if there's any contaminants left in the mitt after scrubbing in my dirty bucket.

There is certainly a huge differentiation between products, even within the world of microfiber. When it comes to that stuff I stick with Meguiar's and Chemical Guys. The Rag Company also has some pretty swanky towels, and I will definitely be investing in those soon.

I use a sheepskin mitt for washing. Super fine on the paint.

I used this mitt for several years. It's a great mitt. I also purchased it from O'Reilly's.

I use Microfiber Madness Incredimitts and Cobra micro chenille. Quality mitts will look and perform like new indefinitely.

I use the Griots MF mitts, I pull out the inner fabric and use both in the same bucket. While one is soaking I wash with the other, one panel at a time and switch. Pulling out the inner fabric and filling the mitt with the soapy water as its soaking helps clean the mitt for the next panel as to limit contaminants. They are real soft and durable. When the start to loose their softness they get pushed down to wheels and tires. I did this on my BMW.
