Not "getting pissy". Your original statement says pretty much what it says.....You believe YOUR opinion to be representative of everyone else and anyone who has different results is wrong.

Just because you can't understand something, that doesn't mean it's wrong. It simply means you can't understand it.

I average 16mpg with almost all city driving (philly) and e-rated 265/65/17 KO2's.

I feel like 20-22 is probably attainable for those not running e-rated tires...and driving mostly highway 65mph

facts would be logs from fuelly. Trust me, i have tried to get mpgs... and the ONLY way to do it was drive 55 and have a stock truck with light tires.... i have actually pulled 24mpg on a 300mi trip home.... but my average is 18mpg with 50/50 mix which is exactly what the epa stated it would be. On the highway at 75 i get 18ish.... 20ish if i drop it to 60-65.

I have Hankook Dynapro ATM 265/75/16's I love them! Snow, Mud, sand overall a great tire IMO. I'm definitely buying another set. I get about 19-22 depending on the weather. I travel about 40miles round trip to work too also they are not loud on the highway.

20 mpg's is possible, but damn do you have to drive like a grandpa to achieve it. I can't drive 55!

If I get 20.5-22 I crap myself as it does not happen often but I get it especially on long trips. I usually stick between the 18-20 range though

glad to hear it, not usually the norm but it's good it has worked for you.

BTW, I avg. 20-21 with cruise on and 65mph. Set cruise at 60mph and I regularly get 23mpg. All stock and synthetic fluids everywhere. Got an hour highway drive to work and back every day so I'd rather save the few pennies and get the best mpg I can get. Helps to have a good audio system for the ride too....

Bill provides good knowledge on this site and I believe him on his mpg. I have a 3" lift with 33" load E tires and lots of weight in/ on my truck and still get 18.5 mpg on most tanks in the summer. Winter fuel and spending more time in 4x4 changes that in the cold months. It's all how you drive. Ease off the skinny pedal. These trucks can be decent on fuel when driven right.

I keep accurate cost per mile records for tax purposes. No hedging on numbers, ACCURATE numbers. I have no need to supply anyone else with "proof". IRS request's documentation, I'll pony up the proof. A few guys on the internet doubt me because they don't get the same mileage.....Well, keep on doubting.

I run 265/75/16 load range C Duratracs @ 36 psi. I drive 90%+ concrete interstate hwy. Sometimes even a higher percentage. Only under the most unusual circumstances do I exceed 65 mph. I routinely read blogs from guys who are "Hyper-milers". I practice many of their techniques to get better mileage. In the past 90 days, I've logged just over 14,000 miles. It's worth the time and trouble to get good mileage.

Also if you get bigger tires remember your actual truck mileage will be different the miles traveled.

Blue is stock tire size. Purple is my tires. Green is the difference.
    Revolutions per mile 658.95 582.85 -76.1 -11.5%

So ever since I put bigger tires on my truck the mileage on the odometer is different then the "real" mileage.

Every inch higher is more negative pressure under the truck, it's bad for mileage regardless of what internet warriors think.

Tire rolling resistance is important too. M/T mud tires are much worse than a mild Toyo AT2 or Terra Grappler. The louder the tire, the more it's sapping power.

I drive the wifes kia if I'm worried about fuel.
