@gugman Hmmm, how to prove I'm actually 50... Well, I do remember Nixon being impeached - seeing him on TV. Being the youngest, I was the one to stand by the TV holding the antenna so the channel would come in. Also I was the "remote" to change the channel (B&W too). First video game was Pong on the B&W TV. First after school job was a full service gas station attendant and they still had a leaded gas pump and real oil cans with the spout you shove into the lid....
Here's how to prove it! I was looking for a revolver (snubby .38spl) for wifey so she could run around like Angie Dickenson on Police Woman... :D

Me Too during the Gas crises and then the price went to $1 and the pumps had the numbers on wheels and could only go to .99

I don't remember what the price per gallon was anymore way back then - (this is probably the best proof of my age)!

I was selling gas for like 35c a gal.
I remember when the price went over a dollar. Even the signs couldn't. So $1.05 a gal was
    .05 on the sign.

No it was only 1500 here
We got the smaller engine, cheaper and still alot of pep, I can't imagine this thing with the WRX engine. We have been very happy with it. We had a forester before that was about 16 years old, ran great up to the time my wife destroyed the engine.

thanks. Only reason I'm considering the 3.6 is if I have to tow - capacity is higher with the other engine. How well does it handle 80 mph speed limit when loaded? :anonymous: what can I say, I don't travel light

Thanks everyone, feels strange banging out into cyberspace but I do feel better now. May not know any of you personally but yet I feel I do. And thanks. Being the adult and giving the appearance of being strong can wear a person down.

Pumped gas for my grandfather in the summers, people stayed in their cars and you did it for them and checked the oil. It was fun for some of them to watch me hunt for the gas cap behind the rear license plate, etc. I do remembering that 50 cents would fill my Honda 250XL at the pumps. I will be 59 this year.

I have a dream! Walmart is selling deep fat fried Twinkies that you heat in the oven. Pull them out and put some Twinkie ice cream on top. Damn...

Knew letting the pup up on the bed the other night was a bad step, for 2 years he has not been allowed. Last 3 nights he has managed to work his way into bed with me. Tollers are back sleepers, and he is a bit big for a Toller at 55 pounds. This is NOT what I want to wake up with in the morning!

    Hey Kev

Couple busy nights at work, so just haven't been keeping up here. We leave tomorrow night, one more shift tonight. Chinook winds have brought temps up into the upper 30°s ... with rain ... on ground that is deep froze thanks to recent subzero spell ... so drive on commute was "sporty" this morning. Back down below freezing tonight with snow in forecast. 31 hrs 'til we fly ... AM READY for break and seeing kids. ;)

Wait ... There's Twinkie ice cream?

    I concur

I'll have read back here, but hope all is good for you my friend.

... Where do I find this Twinkie ice cream? I have to find it ... I too now want a deep fried twinkie / twinkie ice cream sundae! :hungry:
