About 6 months ago I traded in my 2016 Tacoma 4x4 because I had to go back to a manual. Unlike a lot of people I just hated the 2016 but that's beside the point but I love the 2012 Tacoma SR5 4x4 with that smooth 6 speed manual. Best truck I've ever owned. Now that it needs new tires and got the wife approval to get a lift, tires, wheels I think I want to go 35's. Will the 35's put a load on the truck where its a headache to drive? I still want to enjoy driving it? Also what lift would y'all go with?(I was thinking about a 6"). Also what size rims would y'all recommend? Also is there a online dealer or a sponsor on this site that y'all would go Thur?

    Thanks in advance,
    Mike

With the 35's the truck will drive fine if you regear. If you don't plan on or don't want to regear then don't go with 35's.

If you want to keep that "smooth" 2012 don't go 6" lift. 3" is plenty to fit 33's.

It's a daily driver but since my I'm moving my daily commute will only be 20 miles round trip versus the 75 miles I have been driving I just want a clean looking Tacoma that looks bada$$! Lol

The "baddest looking" trucks on this site have 3" lift. Most if them are extremely capable as well.

Yeah i think the consensus here is going to 3inch lift with 33s. Youre going to need to trim some shit with 35s, regear, Drop bracket lift. To me, that sounds like more headache than its worth.

If you want it tho, go for it, itll look sweet if you do the research and do it right.

Agreed. 3" is the sweet spot on the tacos. 33's or 285's look amazing on these trucks. OP you'll have to get the cab mount chop and new UCA's, but that's not a big deal. What's your budget if I may ask?

Or Icon stage 2 and still have the loot for the wheels and tires. You're doing the right thing by doing the research.

do a long travel kit if you want to run 35s. otherwise just do a mid travel kit with 33s. try Marie @HeadStrong Off-Road. she'll help you figure out everything you need.

That's it. You might want UCA's if you crank the coilovers up. I chose not to. It's perfect for me. Rides great, a huge upgrade!
