a couple of the wheel well liners seem to have pulled away from the tabs but the tabs are still there. Can the tabs be removed without breaking them?

The only ones I've been able to remove without breaking are those that I can reach from the back. Then you can compress the tabs to get 'em out. The good news is that they have a few tabs on them. I usually end up braking one or two of the tabs so they can be reused.

I just keep a supply of new ones on hand...

The tabs can be removed theres two parts that compress, all i did was take a flat head and push one of them then pull with a pair of pliers. Then use the flathead to compress the other part and just pull it right out. After you get one out it'll be really obvious and much easier on the rest of them

You can order them at the stealership. They're technically called 'skirts'.

i dont have either splash guards..... the clips stay on and the material rips. are they actually important?

My opinion would be that their a good thing to have, but not necessary. I've always assumed they keep rocks & debris from getting thrown up in there and causing problems and unwanted buildup.

You can get both the clips and skirts at a stealership. You may be able to get similar clips at an auto parts store, but I've never looked. For the record, the Toyota Item Number for the clips is 90080-46327. Most usually have some in stock, but sometimes you'll have to order them. Like all things there, the clips are a rip-off. The last time I bought some they were $1.09 a piece!

that's pretty expensive for some clips. And, the tearing of the material, as you have said, is also another problem. I guess I "prefer" to have them on my truck tho. They have kept alot of debris from getting up into where it doesn't belong (out on the trails). Well...at least for me it has been useful.

I have fiberglass fenders so if anyone needs the stock inner fender wells I would sell for pretty much nothing. I have no need for them. They are off of a 2002 Tacoma prerunner. I made new ones for my fiberglass out of the old mudflaps :)

This is why I joined after lurking for years, to thank YOU sir! I have been screwing around with various solutions and listening to my rear inner fender wells rattle like crazy for a year now. People on the sidewalk could hear it clearly its ridiculous! Anyways, I just went out there with some zip ties and even though it does not look possible it is possible to secure the inner fender wells with zip ties and STOP THE RATTLING! Nothing better than fixing something for free since I already have many zip ties.

    THANKS!!!
