Purchased my 05 DCSB back in early 2006 with only 7k miles on it and now at 170k miles I still park and stare at it as I walk away. Only regrets is not knowing about the zerk grease fittings on the drivetrain until this month. (Thank you TW)
Also not lifting it sooner. I think it sits so perfect now.

Did you do it yourself? Why do you regret it? I've considered it a time or two.

Regret wasting my time with full size trucks for almost 10 years before discovering the badass-ness that is the Tacoma. :D Would've been awesome to drive a first gen as my first vehicle.

don't know if it's regret, but the fender flares bother me. Thinking of pulling them off or replacing them with some bushwacker's here in the near future.

I have had my 15 TRD DC for about a month now. love everything about it except the gas mileage. but I knew what to expect as this was my 7th Toyota purchase and my
4th truck. Had a 94, 01 and 03 prior to getting my 2015. am sure it will be as good as all the others.

    My 2011 has several faults.
    1. Every time I lock or unlock it with the key, it beeps. This annoys the neighbors if I must go someplace late at night. What purpose?
    2. No front tiedowns in the bed; there are tiedowns only at the rear of the bed. Tiedowns could easily be added to the two front bed liner holding bolts.
    3. No keyhole on the passenger side; if I need to get something from inside the truck, I must walk into traffic to open the driver side door.
    4. No way to turn the front parking lights off when driving with headlights off. At telescope parties, I must drive with ALL LIGHTS OFF, to avoid ruining long exposure time photography. When I put the parking brake on first click as a hack, the damn thing beeps when I am in motion.
    5. The outrageous cost of bed rail cleats! After examining a dealer-bought $35 cleat, I made my own for $3 by grinding the heads on 1/2" carriage bolts and adding a washer and then a couple of wing nuts. Epoxy or braze the second wing nut near the end of the bolt.
    6. There is no control of the door lock when inside without setting off the alarm. Sometimes I need to lock the doors for personal safety in a bad neighborhood.
    7. The truck is overweight, underpowered, and a gas hog. Why not a light P/U that is fun to drive, like the good old days? One that puts the driver in control of everything!
    8. There is an antenna mount on the center of the cab roof, but no access cable that would allow me to use it for my VHF/UHF scanner. Sometimes people like to know what is really going on in the world.
    9. The car radio is something from the last century. With no USB port for my own listening material (lectures from the Great Courses are great on long road trips). The best thing about it is the AUX jack that allows my iPhone to serve as a fantastic car radio with thousands of politically incorrect stations. Don't worry! Apple's latest phones have removed that capability. Blue Tooth will be required in the future.

Generally, the designers of the door lock and alarm logic should be FIRED!!! It has a lot in common with the Hoover vacuum cleaner. Toyota would do well to copy the lock and alarm system logic from my excellent Prius C.

Should have gotten a manual transmission and regret removing my lift (OME 885's w/top plate spacer, AAL, and TC UCA's) and selling all the parts...just because of the front diff needle bearing vibration, which I ended up with at stock height afterwards, and have since fixed with the $60 ECGS bushing. Lost more than that on the parts I sold.

I bought mine from a Dealer that I trust. He's done all the work on all my families cars for the past 10 years going back 3 cars for my mom, & 2 cars for me. Before I bought my Taco I had a 2001 Camry. He's a independent dealer and a Baltimore Ravens fan so I get to have fun giving him shit about that. I told him I wanted a Tacoma TRD Off Road with a Couple a years from being new because I new they were good before I got on here. My Best friend had a 1st gen. I gave him a color list and told him to go find me a truck. Well he first truck was the one I have now. It had 15K in miles which is outstanding for a 2013 I think. There isn't a thing I would change except the Off Road. I really wanted that. That's the only thing I would change.

Buying an automatic, should have gotten a standard, gas mileage could be much better. But it's still somewhat new to me so I'm still getting use
To my taco, otherwise it's a really nice truck

Not going long bed. My ice shanty is 1" too long. That extra length would have been very useful more than once.

I love my truck, I really do.

BUT, I wish it was bigger and had a nicer ride. Every time I drive my wife's 4Runner I realize how shitty my Tacoma really rides. It makes me wish I had bought a 4Runner and makes me wonder what hers would ride like with my suspension.

I wouldn't give it up now I am very happy with this truck.
I also have a problem and I love my truck. I don't like it being out of site or in parking lots. I want it to last 500k anyway frame shit pending. Guess I don't like not knowing what was done before i bought it.
