Hi everyone, because I greatly respect the opinions of this forum I figured I would post a link to a truck I'm looking at.

    2004 Doublecab 4x4 with a new frame in 2016.

    Link: http://www.mikeandtonyct.com/2004-T...Springfield-MA-Hartford/used_car/QV8a0P8lp8Y=

I live in upstate NY so I've only been looking at trucks with recently replaced frames and this one was replaced in 2016!

Ran the VIN at Toyota Owners and it has a complete service history. The only thing it looks like it needs is a timing belt and water pump.

    Thoughts?

I agree about the price, I think I would feel more comfortable paying around $12000 especially since it will need a timing belt and water pump.

Thats a super nice truck with super low miles to match. To be honest, I wouldn't blink an eye paying that price for a 4WD DoubleCab. If you continue to take care of it with that low of miles, it will probably outlast you. maybe negotiate a grand or so more off the cost for the TB/WP, then sign the papers!

Maybe that price IF they have the timing belt and water pump done.

I think I'm a little gun shy right now because I looked at a similar truck last year and passed on it because it had too much rust despite the frame replacement.

Yeah dont let it get in your head. Try to negotiate a bit more and pull the trigger. Those are stupid rare to find anymore with that mileage.

Just called and its still available. Getting some more detailed pictures of the undercarriage and engine. I asked them to see if they can find the sticker showing if the timing belt and water pump were replaced. I'll post back with more later.

    Thanks for the encouragement.

Dude, that is a very nice truck. Much like mine. Same year but mine is the extended cab version. Sometimes I wish I had the quad cab... Anyway it is nice. Just reiminding you that fluid film is your friend here. I suggest coating inside frame with the green stuff from Eastwood then FF the daylights out of it. You can paint the welds before FF if you want also.

After you buy it, check all the bolts that were undone during the frame replacement to make sure they didn't miss anything or pinch any hoses/wires.

Good advice. Still waiting to hear back from the dealer. With some more pictures and about the timing belt.

Looks good to me. I would check it out in person though and when you do check out the fluids. If they look brand new then search underneath the engine and transmission for leaks or sweat.

Once I hear back from the dealer I'll make the decision if I want to drive four and a half hours to go see it.

Total no-brainer if theyve done the belt....might need some extra phone negotiation if not. Very clean.

If they haven't done the timing belt and water pump anyone have a suggested amount I should try to use as a negotiating number?
