It is good to get some other perspectives . I recall a lot of the retire and vapor lock with in a year when I was on active duty. Some you could predict sort of as they were high strung always pinging around others nope would have bet no problems. You got to do what you need to and will meet your needs.

Damn that is a shame, young coon is tender if cooked low and slow. Greasy as hell but tender. The crockpot is yelling foul right about now :hungry:

Isn't that the truth! My second one was done aboard the USS Coral Sea in 83 while underway. Which means it is a sea story and should have started out with this is a no shitter. For whatever reason they did a local on me and as I was laying on the table the cart with all the instruments like scalpels and such was rolling around and slamming into the table next to my head from the rough seas. The surgeon finally told someone to secure the cart. They set up a mirror so I could watch but I did not want to watch and kept my head turned the whole time.

Complications of some type came up and things went longer than expected and I started to be able to feel things as the local wore off. The Doc didn't believe me and pricked me with the scalpel on the inner thigh of my leg and asked me what I felt. I told him and where so they put me under for the rest of it. But the recovery period was the roughest part. Yeah do what they tell you and do not do what they tell you until the time is up.

    Man. Those can suck.
I put in a Werner aluminum one years ago.
Just be careful and get help when needed. I've only installed one but climbed thousands it's seemed.

I've never even seen a Newton Meter torque wrench, thought that was something that only existed in textbooks or manuals. Been a long time for me though.

The 1200 PSI steam flanges on ships had to be torqued to 1400 ft\lbs. Never saw a torque wrench on the ships that could read that high, and wouldn't fit in the tight space even if there was one. So we always figured swinging a sledge hammer on a slugging wrench until the nut sack twitched twice in a row was about 1400 ft\lbs. of torque. Which explains post on hernia(s), it is a fine line that is easy to cross.

Yup. Got a Aluminum Werner insulated one to replace a drafty, beat up wooden one.
At least it's a lighter weight 40 pounder.

Exactly. I did ours myself. I like the bottom is adjustable to floor. Just follow instructions make sure there's enough blocking. And trim it out. You could paint it before installing.

Friend of mine has chickens for the eggs. One day a bobcat got hold of one, she chased it away but the chicken only lasted a week or so. I said, "so you had a chicken dinner?" She was horrified and said, "no, we buried her". I don't get that, but obviously it had become a pet.
