Pressure IS important in loose material like sand, mud, etc.. Tractor tires run very low pressure ~3-15 psi. just for a reference. 235/85R16's are usually E load range tires with 10ply so they can be operated at very low pressure without damaging the tire.

Check out the Toyo Open Country A/T II. They have a 65,000 mile warranty. I've had a set on for about 10,000 or so and they still look new! Look 'em up, it may be a good option for you.

I plan on looking into the toyos for sure or maybe the at3s or atw. Debating if my ride would smooth out alot if I switch back to 265 but lack the winter traction that I loved with these. Maybe there really isn't a winter difference between the 2 sizes

The max approved rim width I've seen for these tires is 7.5". Can you run these on an 8" rim without issue?

Currently running a set of P265 75 16 Falken Wildpeak AT3W's but after 10k miles they got 10/32nd's tread left. So debating what I want for my next tire a 265 75 16 Duratrac C or a 265 75 16 Cooper ST Maxx or a 235 85 16 Cooper ST Maxx? Whats your guys opinion!?

Currently running a .75" bora spacer with my tires now, but was thinking about going with a pizza cutter 235 85 16 St Maxx and run a 1.25" spidertrax to get the same amount of poke as i have now!

My trucks a 2016 SR 4x4 5 Speed 4 cylinder, also have a LCE Engineering Header on it also!

235's or 255's would look sick. Especially with that color. Would look badass utilitarian

I'm meeting a guy on the forums to try is 255 85 16's out to see if I got the clearance for them but I'm thinking I do and I also want to see how the 4 cylinder handles them!

Sweet that you can try before you buy! I don't have any experience with 4 cyl but I love my 235/85/16 KO2's on a V6. I would kind of worry about 255 though. I know folks with a V6 that feel they have to regear diffs to get back power - of course a lot of that has to do with the weight of the specific tire and the rest of their build. Besides the diameter change there is typically a lot of weight in a off road 255 and of course that weight is further out too making the rotational moment of inertia quite a bit higher than a 235.

Anyway, let us know what you think when you get to try them!

Will do for sure! Driving down from Pittsburgh to Cumberland MD on Saturday to meet up with @fatfurious2 and he is gonna swap wheels with me and see what the fitment and ride is like with his 255 85 16 ST Maxx Tires! @fatfurious2 is also coming up to sell a rear bumper to @AR15xAR10!

So I'll take pictures and let you know how the fitment goes and how the 4 cylinder handles the tires on a test ride with them!!!

Is everyone using this tire size just ignoring the recommendations and running them on the stock 8" width tacoma rim, or are you mounting them on smaller width rims? If so what rim size are you using?

What stock 8" width Tacoma rim?

For 2nd Gen the only stock 16" rims are 16x7. Same for 1st gen (though actually for 1st gen there are some 16x6.5 stock wheels as well). Pretty sure same for 3rd gen but haven't checked the specs for every stock rim.

Hmmm right you are. I just checked. I don't know why but I thought my 1st gen rims were 8" wide, but I was wrong. They are just the stock alloy rims. 16"x7", 6 lug 139.7mm bolt pattern. Ha. Thanks guys. I guess I was confused by all the aftermarket rims I was looking at, most of those seem to be 16x8.

I'm with you about the duratracs I have 235/85/16 on my 96 6.5 diesel I live in western Montana and never had to chain up... I have 33 12.50s toyo m/t on my first Gen TRD extended cab v6 and hate them... looking for a set of 16" wheels so I can put the tracs on the yota for the winter.. might look funny with those tires and my 3" lift but oh well lot better tire
