... some of you guys are having some weird issues - how cold are you talking? I've been down to -10 for a couple hours and not see the TPMS come on.

Agreed. As a meteorologist it adds double to my work, have to convert everything for our pilots and briefs. Stupid Fahrenheit and it makes no sense when you realize what its based on compared to Celsius, but honestly we should be using Kelvin.

Worst part is when the temp is so cold that the tpms warning is on constantly.

Does this tell you something...?? It's trying to tell you that your tires are low because the Temp has dropped and you better add some warm air..!!

Depends on where your pressure was stock I guess. Mine came from the factory with 28 PSI in it and this winter, it got as low as 19 in Oak Harbor and 7 in pasco. My tires were down to 23 PSI.

well the son's camry tpms came on with 27psi all around, took about 35 mins of mixed city/highway driving to warm them up to 30-32 psi and for the lights to go out. granted it was -20F outside :)

I believe the snowflake symbol comes on to warm you of possible bridge and overpass freezing. They are the first to freeze usually... It's just a silent alert to "be careful" and expect some ice...:):canada:

At least it's silent in here lol. My Jetta dings if it drops below 4 degree c

But since it's more like winter today
Was -13 overnight with -20 wind chill.
    Dash doesn't account for wind
-11 right now wind chill of -18 right now.
At least I got to try my block heater finally. Worked great Scangauge said coolant was 24 degrees when I started it.

Why would it? It's not like wind chill has anything to do with non-living stuff.

As a warning of possible icing it triggers above freezing most likely to account (a) for local variations in temperatures such that a bridge might be a few degrees cooler than the roads leading up to it and (b) wet bulb temperatures in certain circumstances can be a couple degrees lower than ambient and create icing.

Even in Georgia, I regularly check/adjust cold tire pressure through the seasons just as I did in central NY long before TPMS existed. Do y'all not do that up there?

Yep, I GTFO twenty years ago. ;)

I paid $50k for this truck. It should tell me wind chill.
-logic of many on here lol

I know it won't show wind. Just trying to show it was pretty brisk this morning. Compared to what temp this thread was originally created for.
