When new, what did TRD OR come with?

When the 2nd Gen TRD OR were new, what were the mechanical differences from the TRD OR compared to the Sport or the 4x4?

The OR comes with the rear locker and the 4x4 has ATRAC. Sport only has TRAC. The OR also has a softer swaybar to allow more flex.

 

Sport also has LSD.

Pre-2009 does not have trac.

Post-2009 4x4 OR and sport have atrac

 

You can get TRD OR or TRD Sports in both the Prerunner and 4x4 models.

Base Prerunner and 4x4 was just that, base options, open diffs, standard shocks, etc.

Early 2nd gen TRD Sport came with a mechanical LSD rear end, which switched to a electronic LSD in 09. Also got 17" rims and different tires, sport shocks, and a different sway bar I believe. Also got a hood scoop and different mirrors I think.

TRD OR got an E-locker rear diff, TRD OR shocks, a different sway bar, 16" rims and OR tires. In I believe 09 the 4x4 TRD OR also got ATRAC, which is fancy traction control that acts like a front locker.

 

TRD OR 4x4 has:
Rear selectable locker
ATRAC off road traction control, simulating lockers front and rear
Down hill descent control
Hill start assist
More powerful electronically boosted braking system
Lighter weight sway bar
Side curtain airbag disable
Rear bed inverter (available on sport)
High bolster TRD seats (available on sport)
Standard high output alternator, tranny cooler and tow package (available with tow package)

Did the 2nd gen TRD OR ever come with a manual? Are they hard to find? Havent seen any around here....

 

Yes, they come in manual. My first 2nd gen Tacoma was an off-road with a speed manual.
