Never have liked the 2nd gen so that was never an option for me. And yes having the updated interior for a DD is a plus too.

 

Every time I look around at fool size rigs as a next build, I'm reminded that anything made after 1998 is going to only have kits offered by BDS with spacers and blocks everywhere. And it costs $1,800.

I forget how spoiled we have it, because even the Frontier is impossible to find more than 2 or 3 kits for. If you're not driving a Taco, 4R, or solid axled Jeep, you're boned.

I like all three gens. I just like Tacomas..to each their own..I like every gen of 4Runner too.

 

I didn't like the 4th gen 4R, but I was drooling over a ToyTec built TRD 5th gen at Groove a few weeks back grabbing a shaft bolt.

 

Wouldn't want to sway you guys towards the good truck. It takes a lot for you guys to appreciate your out dated, under powered, gas guzzling, sorta reliable truck with the interior and technology from a 1992 civic. But hey, resale value so..
