I just did it for the first time a week or so ago. It's really easy with the ECGS removal tool. Hardest part is getting the CV out of the diff. No joke. It's super hard.

Ok. I have all the tools except something to get the CV out. Did you use a slide hammer?

If any of you 2nd gen guys are looking a radiator or steering box skid plate, some Jeep guy down in southern Ohio got sent them by accident and posted them on Craigslist. Sounds like he wouldn't turn down too many offers. Just wanted to spread the word.

I would but I work Saturday and a side job work on Sunday.

However, I drove to Dublin today and back again tomorrow for Subaru training for new model 2017. Any chance of something to do for a couple of hours around 3 or 4 or 5?

No but really I didn't have anything in mind. I'm looking at planning a trip this summer through upstate New York, Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine.

Fucking A', man. Don't know about the wheeling, but I have always enjoyed rural 2 lane in upstate NY and the others. The White Mountains are pretty awesome (for the east coast! HA!). You gotta do Mount Washington and get the sweet "This car climbed Mount Washington" sticker, natch. Go over the very top of Lake Champlain on the bridge, and then there's like 3 or 4 free ferries that cross the lake at various spots, don't know about you, but I get a little hard putting my truck or motorcycle on a ferry. It's like one machine is humping another. Plus it's uber-overland to take a ferry.

    Abso-fuckin-lutely

So far I'm looking at all interstate to Utica, NY. Then from there taking highway 8 through the "Adirondacks" to eventually end up DEFINATELY TAKING A FERRY(by choice not because there isn't a quicker way) at either Ticonderoga or further north at Port Kent over to Burlington, VT. A little Interstate from Burlington to Montpelier, then take 302 east until I come to 112 crossing the white mountain national forest to Conway.
From there I have not decided.

I feel the same way about the ferry thing, I've only been on two before. First one was when I still lived in Mississippi we were on Vacation in and around Gulf Shores, Alabama. Instead of driving through Mobile I wanted to take the Ferry from Fort Morgan to Dauphin Island.(Both are just barrier islands in Alabama gulf coast) learned some history about the area, and by some stroke of WTF there was a major wreck in the Mobile Bay tunnel(Interstate 10?) which was the way we would usually travel through, and people were stuck in traffic for like 6 hours or more. So in theory instead of losing an hour we actually saved 5.

Second time was in Ohio to Put-in-Bay and doesn't have a cool story to go with it. :D

"Richelieu River Bridge" - Go any further north in Vermont and you'd be speaking French and slathering mayonnaise on your French fries. This spans the Richelieu River, the northernmost point of Lake Champlain, between NY and VT. All kidding about the French Canadians aside, most road signs around here are in English and Francais (Hey, you know what they call a Quarter Pounder with Cheese in France?)

LOL do you dream up this shit or do you actually come up with it on the spot? "What do they call a big mac?" "A big mac is still a big mac, but they call it Le Big Mac"

It usually comes to me while I'm driving.

I've also done the Mobile Bay ferry, that was bad ass. The fort is fucking awesome.

If you haven't read all of Bowman's Odyssey it is pretty good, but here's the section about VT.

Just finished up the "Hammunition Can" build! A company sells a finished version of these for $300+ without the transceiver. I've got about $50 in this one without the TYT 9800. 50 watts of output power in a can! :D
