I don't have a pad but was doing a lot of research on other threads, and everyone recommended Medium for the Raceface pad on a Taco.
EDIT: By the way, if you get one, please post your experience especially how it fits over the curved tailgate top on the 3rd gen. Thanks.

I dont think Rockymount fork mounts are cheaply made are they? They are cheaper but have great reviews.

I carried four on the roof with Yakima Front Loaders. These are no frame touch and you keep the front wheel on. Worked great, except for the massive amount of wind drag it created which sent my MPG's into the single digits. I did not go in worried about MPG's though, but was surprised.

I agree with blktre, cheap in price, not in quality.

I have the yakima pad and the top of it is plenty wide for the taco tailgate. Mine does not have velcro straps, but I have never found the need for them.

I have one I use with my 3rd gen Tacoma. The medium fills the entire width of the tailgate. The large would be too big.

I have one on my third gen and it fits fine on my tailgate. The part that is made to go on top is wide enough. I have a mobtown tailgate cap on it but I don't think it changes the geometry. The material is flexible enough where I don't think the curve really makes a difference.

Not sure what type of bikes you are going to be carrying but we have a 6-bike northshore rack that has served us well. Fully loaded on a 500 mile trip, we had no issues. I don't think they work well with road bikes though. Also fairly expensive

What kind of mileage hit did you take with such a big rack sticking up over the bed? Or do you have a topper that helps with aerodynamics?

I'm still tacoma-less but planning to pick one up so signed up and could just chime in here. Generally, with what we've used it with, I haven't noticed a significant change in MPGs compared with hauling 5-6 bikes/people/gear.

For those who have asked this is how the current version of the medium/small RaceFace fits on my 2016 Tacoma SR5. It seems to fit perfectly and the opening for the tailgate latch lines up.

Right on! Looks like I'll be getting the medium Raceface as soon as my Kuat Sherpa sells!

Built a custom rack for the truck a few years back. It fits four bikes nicely including my 29er. Of course, this was before the fat bike craze. Now I have to modify it to fit my Salsa Bucksaw.

Thanks. I like your bedside decals. I gave CBoy808 the original design idea, which was for my MTB Edition. I think I like "Adventure" better. Those colors are pretty sweet too!

Looking good! I got something similar plus the Colorado "C" incorporated into the mountains. Now I just have to put the suckers on.

Hahaha that's awesome, that's what gave me the inspiration! I changed it to adventure edition to not rip off your idea ha. So thank you for the great idea I love it! It definitely makes my truck stand out. I was nervous going with green but its my favorite color so i gave it a try. I think it turned out pretty good.
