I just got my Tacoma and a Qi compatible case for my iPhone 7. I turned on the Qi and put the phone on the adapter spot. A yellow light lit up on the pad but my phone did not show a charge indicator. Should my phone show an indicator?

I don't have an iPhone, but if the light in the cubby hole where the charging platform is comes on it is working.

You will find out either one of two things with the iphone and Qi, a) most cases will end up dieing/no longer charging the phone after a few weeks b) while on the Qi pad your phone will charge/disconnect/charge/disconnect with every bump, turn, etc. Here's hoping the 8 has built in charging.

What case are you using. I used the Siegen and it stopped working after 2 months. Glad yours works just saying, myself and others had the same experience with the constant disconnecting, not to mention rapid short charging periods are terrible for the longevity of your phone's battery.

I bought the Dogbone something or other case. Don't know the exact model name. Was $10 on Amazon. Works great and even comes with a charging pad that I keep on my nightstand.

I have a Samsung with wireless charging built in. I'd have to actually sit down and look at the rates, but it seemed that the charger was pretty slow. I just use a cig lighter and cord now.

I have Qi wireless charger attached to my iPhone 7. iPhone should definitely light up to indicate that its charging once you place it on the charging pad.

Will it hurt the truck just to leave it on all the time?

Mines on all the time but it charges my Samsung painfully slow so I never use it
