New Pioneer Z110BT Installed

Well not really (Yet). I'm in the process right now of soldering the wires together. Will post pics as project comes along.

Keep up the fine work! If you can, keep us up to date with the install. Hopefully I'll be doing the same one in my truck and would love some pictures to go off of and any tips you might come across.

Are you using stock speakers or switching them? Stock rear camera?

Any questions you have I'll have no problem telling you what worked for me. I'm installing a rear camera when it comes and thats about it for now. Unfortunately I spent my budget on the headunit but eventually yes I would like to upgrade everything else.

 

Nice work!! I am curious how fast you can navigate through your Ipod?
I have around 115 gigs of music and my JVC touch screen is painfully slow. I was thinking about a Pioneer upgrade.

 

where/ how did you mount the receiver for the gps signal?? thats the only hangup for me because i want to do it myself but have little experience

 

Looking good. I have the same system also with a backup camera. I just put the GPS antennae with its magnetic square pad right on top of the nav unit itself. No problems locating satellites and it's hidden from sight. Remember to leave a little slack of camera cable inside the tailgate....just incase you ever have to take off your tailgate and need to cut the camera cables for removal. I put my microphone overhead just in front of the compass/temp gauge.

You're gonna love this unit. You'll notice that the sound from the stock speakers are greatly improved. I still have stock for now - will upgrade speakers later. Don't forget to do the bypass, it's worth it.

 

did you need to buy anything else?? like a bluetooth adapter or hd/satellite radio receiver?? or does everything you need come with the unit??

 

What about the dash kit. Is it the one made by Scoshe? Debating getting this unit or waiting for the Avic x920BT.

 

I haven't really tried yet. My library has been fully sorted through playlists that I have created so for the most part I search that way.

 

I've read on a few other threads that some fellow installers just mount it on the bottom of the dash (right above the headunit.) So far it's working great for me.

 

The unit comes with built in blutooth, navigation, and voice recognition. You do have to purchase seperately an HD receiver or XM receiver.

 

Supposedly the next upgrade for my unit will be the Z120BT. The X920BT only has a 6.1" screen and their are a few other features it lacks. Also I've heard that we (being those who have the Z110BT) should be able to by an upgrade for our software (not really many exterior design changes.) I purchased the Metra kit. Many people here say that the Scoshe is a POS and rattles a lot.
