What brand of holesaw?

 

I have Lennox and some of the new Milwaukee carbide tipped ones. Just non in 4-1/8"

 

From the pic it looks like a Lennox

 

So is it 4" or 4-1/8"?

 

Yea I have Starrett up to 3".

 

105mm. 4-1/8" is closest.

Lol yea. But he wound up walking out half way through because it was 102° out and we were fighting the elbow through the fender to the main manifold. He was all. "Fuck this" which never happens btw

So... As far as I can tell from reading up online, butyl mastic is a rubbery compound that never completely hardens so it stays sealed during slight movement between the two surfaces. That's pretty much a description of silicone as well so I'm thinking that butyl mastic is listed because it will seal to the plastic parts and the hose materials whereas silicone will not.
If I'm missing anything, someone please jump in and let me know.
My question is, can the mastic tape or whatever they gave you guys at home depot be applied into the joint or are you guys wrapping it around the outside of the joints to seal them?

 

Correct not all HD carry though. I used duct seal. It's okay. But I will most likely put that motile on

 

Also the mastic tape isn't a set it and forget it type of thing. Also it's playable
So when you do set it it's not something you pre-set. It's something you'll put on around the joints after install so get out your small fingers. Or get the wife out there to form it on

 

As far as I can tell the snorkle is made out of abs or some poly type plastic. Not much sticks to that stuff permanently. I'm trying to figure out what to use without having to order the mastic cuz it seems pretty damn pricey and most of it is listed for metal sealing, not plastic/rubber

 

Lexel. Comes in a caulk tube. 100% waterproof, non silicone, stays pliable, and sticks to damn near anything. I get it at my local lumberyard.
