How far off were the mounting holes from the template?

 

That didn't work. Cutting dtud tomorrow. I have work at 8am and its 34 degrees

 

I feel for you guys, you need a heater buddy. I use it all the time when I working in the cold.
Whats the "dtud"?

 

I don't have fender liners

 

I used em as they were...it's a bit tight but it worked

That's fast.....I'm ocd when it comes to this stuff so I'll drill the big hole and mock it up 400 times before I drill the other ones then mock it up again to make sure it's going to sit exactly perfect. Once that's done, I'll put a few coats of paint on the bare metal and then leave it for at least 24 hrs so it can dry before doing the final install. I'll probably seal the crap out of the seams where the hose clams are with way too much sealant but meh....

Oh and don't forget to seal the drain holes in the bottom of the air box!!!

You'll have plenty of room to add some "slop factor" for a good fit. That's where the dremel comes in handy. Using the 4 1/8 holesaw adds a bit of play. Plus you're waiting for daylight and heat...

 

I drilled em all at once except a-pillar...i just wanted it done after how long it took to get it and all the bull shit that happened

 

I'll do the same. I'll line up the template 50 times before I drill the big hole

I keep seeing 4 1/8" hole saw but on the template it says 4" (102mm).....

Is there room to put some edge trim on the big hole to clean up the edge somewhat? Will that edge trim fit behind the snorkel without pushing it out from the fender?

 

No one will see it, but you will know it's there.

 

My install is still probably 1-2 months out....it's too damn cold here to be messing around with plastic, sealant and paint etc. At least it will give me lots of time to get everything together......well, longer than the 5 months it's already been.

 

Not at all. It's ballzout cold and middle of the night in January! I said way back in one of these snorkel threads that it's not a mod for the faint of heart. I think there's a mini mod day going on in Tidewater tomorrow, not sure if anyone there has an Airflow that would be able to help you out.

 

Wish I had a garage.
