The cap installer puttied those areas on both sides of the front rail, but I have gapping holes below those areas that seem to be very hard to seal up!

UGh hate to hate but that is the worst silicone job I have ever seen. BTW if anyone is actually using chaulking it will dry hard and crack in time. You must use silicone.

Not a great pic. But it's a Leer 100XL. Got it with carpet, roof rails and a removable front slider window. So far I like its fit.

I compared against a ARE Z-series and a Snugtop Supersport and this was the right one for me. One thing I wanted to get but thought was too spendy at the time was the power lock for the latch. What I realized a few weeks ago when it was below freezing here is the rear glass needs defroster strips.

So. With this topper talk. Has anyone installed a utility type topper? I am on the fence with buying a soft topper but for over landing and a top tent, I would have to get a bed rack system too. I was thinking of getting a strong utility type topper with storage and stength to put a tent on top...

What was the length of the Yakima Tracks that are on your cap? 60" or 54"? Thanks.

Softopper sells a rack system that fits over the softopper itself. Not sure how much weight it can hold tho..

My rails are rock solid, no deflection at all.

I haven't been able to find the info for Leer, but on my last shell (a Snugtop) the installation instructions said to tighten the clamps to 15lbs of torque. So not that much. If your rails are bending/deflecting, I bet the clamps are too tight.

I bought the one Softopper sells. It's a US Truck Cap Rack and holds up to 250lbs. It's not easy to install both together and the Softopper won't fold up with the rack on. I don't end up using them together. Had I have known I would have purchased a different bed rack.
