It just sucks that people have to fight like animals to get them to do something they know about then just tell people this is normal!

Exactly and what my truck does isn't normal. It maybe what all gen3 Tacoma's do but it's damn sure not normal for a vehicle to drive like this one does.

I agree with the above kerrdog posts. Assuming your truck doesn't have defective parts (operating as designed) and assuming you bothered to research it and test drive it before you bought it, whining about the way it operates reminds me a bit of the crowd that puts huge heavy mud tires on their trucks and then complain about the mileage they get. My truck has 15,000 plus miles on it with no issues the dealer was unwilling to address (biggest thing being replaced a seatbelt tensioner on drivers side due to rattle - also did the tranny TSBs). It doesn't vibrate. It doesn't balk. It purrs. I don't have any issue with driving it around town at 1100 rpm. It downshifts when it needs to, in my opinion at just the right time, and upshifts likewise. If I want it to go (at any speed) I push down on the pedal, the revs jump, and it goes.

I test drove many trucks before getting the one I have now NONE of them had any vibration issues while test driving then mine started getting these vibrations @ 3700 miles....I have no shifting, lurching, banging from park to reverse or vice versa but the hanging and searching for gears SUCKS with this transmission....

I was referring to the power/shifting issues. I don't mean to suggest that you should not expect Toyota to address vibration issues. If my truck had that, I'd be equally disconcerted. All I can say is they don't all do that and if that's what you are being told, that's crap. I completely agree that Toyota should fix that for you.

Every time I take a break from this forum, I come back and continue to see you complain about the third gen. It's irritating, especially when your signature is of two photo shop'd puked color third gens. Your marketing a truck you despise, hypocritical.

I'm okay with the power issue as it is plenty sufficient for my driving but this shifting shit is a pain in the ass my Gf VW Touareg W/8-speed tranny and that thing is smooth as butter I wonder why Toyota can't get it right on a 6 speed trans....

The more and more I drive my truck and compare it to my 4Runner the go pedal is just stiff. If I put the pedal at the same level respectively in each vehicle it accelerates the same. Just takes more effort. Not necessarily a good thing. Just an observation

Last summer I decided to buy a new vehicle. History - Datsun P\U, S10, Blazer, Tahoe, Tahoe, Yukon, Xterra, Tacoma 2016 TRD O/R
I big reason for deciding on the Tacoma was the reputation, next its sizes as I could not fit the monster truck in the garage. I live in the hills get snow and travel forest roads with SAR team, tow a boat once in a while and a Polaris RXR often.

So technically the Tacoma fits the bill. Some have criticized me and other for complaining about performance, "Don't like it sell it". Easy to say but taking a $5-8K hit when you consider sales tax is not in the cards for me.

The forum has provided great information about the product, wish I would have seen it before the purchase, my bad. I spent my time researching models and reading professional reviews.

The so called test drive was on flat land and it drove great, nice and comfortable, lots of features I never had and I was sold, convinced I made a good decision. All that said I still like my truck. That does not mean I should ignore its cons and the transmission is a big one that none of the professional reviewers I saw wrote about.

Next week I will be adding a winch bumbler and a 3 in lift, already have winter tire set with new wheels, custom decals, led tailgate lights, tonneau cover, electric tailgate lock, ECT button mod (default on), dash cam.

I have stated this before but people just don't listen. Mine feels a little stiff like it is pressing back against your foot to try to teach you to ease it up to speed but with a little more foot pressure it overides that resistance and gets up and gets gone like most people should find acceptable for a 3.5 motor.
