I just ordered all the maps and guidebook for the Northern Forest Canoe Trail. It's approx. 740 miles of canoeing starting at Old Forge, New York and running east to northern Maine (ends at a place called Fort Kent way up north along the border in Maine). I have a lot of time and miles under my belt as far as canoeing goes (used to do extended trips up in Manitoba and other parts of Canada and the Boundary Waters) and wanted to do a long solo trip starting at the end of may through June and part of July. Here's a link with a lot of great info on the route: http://www.northernforestcanoetrail.org/PlanaTrip-2/NFCT-Trail-Overview-35

Edit: Really want to do the whole route but that's still up in the air.

Just wheels? Or wheels and tires? If you want just the wheels I'd do $530 and that would include the black spline lugs from SCS as well

Nice wheels, but I don't need anyone.
    The canoe trip sounds awesome.
Do you have a smaller canoe that's easy to use? I'd imagine solo you'd go for a kayak.

I'm hoping to do the John Muir trail before I'm 30 for a big adventure type trip. So 3 and a half years to get my arse in shape to do so.

You say that like adventure needs to stop after 30 :goingcrazy:

I'm not going to, ha. I'm the same age so 3.5 years seems pretty far right now.

That trail would be quite the trip! I'm not a kayak person - always canoed - my longest canoe trip was around 350-400 miles up to Hudson Bay. I've narrowed down two companies for a solo canoe; both located up in Minnesota. I'll probably go up there over spring break and make my decision and come home with a new canoe.

Ha ha it won't, but a 220mi hike is a lot easier when you're younger, lol.

Wow you make my canoe experience seem like children's play, lol.
You're still in school aren't you? Lucky you have that much time to take off. I miss not having a adult job for those reasons, lol.

I did the boundary waters when I was a kid and our family always did a canoe trip every year. The past couple I've opted for a kayak. Mainly because I'd always get stuck in my mother's canoe and I have yet to be on a trip where she doesn't flip the damn thing. This last year she lost all the beer because of it!

Yeah I went back to school when I was 22ish after some time away. I've always been working or going to school or both so this summer I finally said screw all that, I'm gonna do something cool. but yeah it's nice to have freedom from a full time gig for sure. The boundary waters is one of the best places to paddle in my opinion! hahaha that's funny about the beer - I'm sitting at my computer crackin up right now. I can't say I have much time in a kayak but there are lots of people that do sections of that canoe trail in some pretty high speed kayaks from what I've seen.

My version of hiking is hopping on a dirtbike

I personally enjoy having a job more than being in school. I can afford bigger/funner things to do more often

Speaking of dirtbikes...Anyone ever take their truck to St. Joe Park - that lake bed or whatever? Would it be fun or is their anything to do in your truck out there?

I've heard St. Joe is kind of lame for vehicles. Great for dirt bikes and ATVs. But 4x4s are limited to a certain section with, from what I've heard, not much to do

The Forts Trail Team people we met last night were allot of fun to hang out with. Eerily similar to our group and I think some cooperative events together would be a great time for all. Regrettably I didn't take any pictures but there were some awesome Toyotas there.

Suspension, 33s, some armor... Rust, Gray wire and 2Low, and more. T4r is stock.
I met one of the Fort's Trail Team guys down at the Southern Cruiser Crawl a few years ago. The ride back to camp was quite helpful... That is a funny story for another time... I'm glad to see a group near me doing so well.

Coming back from Ozarks, I stopped because it said OHV and pulled up to the gate and noticed nothing by dirt bikes/4wheelers/sxs so I turned around. From what I gathered its just a lot of single track some places to mess around in a vehicle but always having to watch out for others...

I kind of assumed the same thing that you guys are saying. I just remember years ago going down there with my dirtbikes and never seeing any trucks. Didn't know if things had changed though in the past ten years.

Anyone want to sort out a weekend to do the "High Water Mark Trail," or the "F Stop Trail" as it's also called in the Arkansas Ozark National Forest? I'm really keen on it as a weekend event but would really like to add a Friday in there as well for a three day weekend of trail riding and camping.

    Some videos from youtube.

I think if we could put together a group with about five or six vehicles we'd be able to keep a reasonable pace starting at Jerusalem, Arkansas and driving north. So, who's in?
