Tacoma From the Salish Indian word for the mountain that provided water to their tribe (later changed to Mount Rainier). The name suggests images of strength and power.

Which is weird because the SR5 now is AT only. The SR really is the SR5, or should be at least. Then you had 2nd gen TRD ORs that were dual branded as SR5s.

back in the day SR5 had a different meaning....the 'S' denoted Sport, 'R' denoted the RN motor code, and '5'

Toyota only offer the 2017 sr 2.7 4x4 with convenience package only in white and gray now? Tried to build one in silver and thats what it said... not cool.

 

Go see a dealer and they can order one with the packages you want.

 

Added fog lights and blacked out badges since the last time I posted a pic. I think this truck looks better with the Tacoma door badges, not sure why they left them off of the SR.

 

So funny the SR gets the color keyed bumper. Even Off-Road doesn't unless you spring for PT.

 

Bought this to upgrade my 2016 SR from standard 2 speed wipers to delay wipers. I sold my Tacoma before installing it and no longer have a use for it. Brand new in the box, OEM Toyota part. $120 OBO shipped free anywhere in the 48 states

 

Is that plug and play upgrade?

 

Yes it is, just remove yours and install this in it's place.

Put on 255/70/16 at's and wow what a difference in the way it drives actually holds gears alot better. I can't wait to do some fuel mileage checks. And I was hauling alot a weight.

 

Did we not get the best Grill I like the Pro Grill, but not $400 like.

I'd Love to see some mesh inserts like @HomerTaco makes for the 2nd gens. Adds some style and maybe keep some debris from hitting the radiator.

I'm currently working on a basic build to go to Alaska in August. Biggest thing is a soft topper but there will be some other basic mods like shotgun rack, inverter, sleeping platform, etc. My radios are already in and I've got a lot of other little stuff done. I plan on posting pics as I do stuff. All my current build pics are in the first folder that comes up in my signature link.

Again, this is a basic build. Nothing major.
