Speaker covers

Does anyone know how to remove these speaker covers? Do I have to go through the door panel or will the cover pop off with a screw driver? I want to remove them and paint them black. Any advice would help

 

i think theyre screwed in from the back.... i could be wrong

 

I attempted to pry lightly with a flat head screwdriver but I didn't want to dent or ruin the cover so I stopped.

 

I believe that they are part of the door panel, all one piece

 

yes they are apart of the door panel. u have to take the whole panel off to get to the speaker. its quiet easy to remove 2 screws by the handle one on the door lever and then pull it off

 

But WILL the speaker cover come off?

 

The speaker cover is part of the door panel, taking the door off will give you access to the speaker behind it. However, the speaker its self won't come out I don't think..

 

the cover will not come off. its all one peice of plastic fused together

no problem. its real easy to take off the door panel though. Two screws on the handle. one on the door latch. pop off the black triangle thing near the front of the window. then just take a flathead and go around the edges gently prying the edges up so the clips pop off.

 

Like I said all one piece

 

So then, the cover won't come off?

 

unless you cut it out. it wont come off.

To paint the speaker covers black. Now I'll have to mask em and paint em. No biggie.

 

Why black?

 

To add some color to the interior. See my build thread where I painted the tweeter covers.

 

Yes I did...I prolly hated it that's why I didn't comment on them. J/k...looks good. Just mask them and paint it. They are glued or fused onto the door panels itself. No way of taking them off unless you cut the tabs off on the inner side. Good luck.

 

Probably gonna do it on a up and coming mod day.
