Seems like most people migrated over to the thread formally known as "Greater Portland Meet Thread." Now it's the "PNW Expedition" thread. O_O

Cruised the Coast Range today, prior to throwing some lead around. Anybody else ever get out this way? Be cool to meet up sometime.

Says the ghost! I haven't seen you out on a run in years.

I haven't been on much because I've been working 6 days a week or more and most of my workdays are 11 hours long. I write a quick blurb on the FB group when I'm eating breakfast or such.

Hahaha unfortunately there is much truth in what you said. I know, I've been MIA out in the trails for a long time (since Thanksgiving 2012). I got my adrenaline fix in my truck a couple times this year traveling in the snow to get home, avoiding cars that were struggling to make it up hills. Made me miss being in 4WD and choosing which line to take out in the trails, wondering if I'd get stuck or not.

Yeah, I still see you on FB :) your truck has changed a lot since I first met ya.

Looking at having a meet and greet. More info here.

@JoeTacoma02 you don't have to be a ghost...you can go east on the 84 and come up through tri cities...only about 8 hours from Portland.

    1. Portland is an 8 hour drive one way for me.
    2. I haven't worked since before Christmas and I'm kinda going broke waiting on unemployment to actually give me money.
I may try to make the TSF run this year, but more likely next year. Going for a day trip isn't worth it at this range.

I figured out a long time ago it's easier to find a job than get unemployment. Also the unemployment office is the worst place to find a job!

P.S. I hear the border patrol is hiring. I wonder how hard it is to get a slot keeping those darn Canadians out?

Technically I am on standby with my current employer. They are supposed to have work for me soon. Also, I am a union specialty electrician. I am supposed to get all my work through the union.

Shiiiiit, standby? Can't you just sit back and collect a check and not look for work when on a standby status?

I technically have up to 8 weeks on standby. The first 4 weeks are sort of freeby weeks, then I am supposed to have a letter from employer with a return to work date. It is just like regular unemployment otherwise.

I used to be a Union bricklayer. The first time they sent me home and said I couldn't look for work elsewhere I looked for work elsewhere and never went back. I have friends that are still in, and life is pretty rough for them. The boss always seems to have a new F-350 though.

One thing that is nice is that upon layoff, I don't have to look for work, while unemployment requires making at least 3 contacts per week. I am being held right now at a spot kind of between journeyman and foreman, but paid as foreman (10% over scale). When work starts flowing, I'm sure that I will be running jobs again.

I got two 4ft shop lights that I changed out with LED lights today in my garage. Nothing wrong with the lights that I took out so if someone wants them or needs them you can have them and have the bulbs also. In east Vancouver wa.

    Hey guys.

I need to buy a winch before I install my front bumper (don't want to do it twice).

Looking for a deal on the Smittybilt X20 10k with synthetic rope.

Let me know if you know of a good deal.
