    Yea TC.

One time a shop adjusted one heim so far out it actually broke off the threads while wheelin.
Since using HC 4x4 I've never had a better alignment done on my drop bracket.

I've got Gaia now, haven't used it much though.

Get some SuperLube grease. Best thing you can use on poly bushings.

Or turn your radio up. You should hear my LCA poly bushings.

I really like hema, I used it hunting and planning out all the trails I could hit. The plus side is I was able to import the files from trail damage

^^ This. They will still squeak eventually though. I grease my zerks about every 5000 miles or about every oil change.

Posters and responders. Why are there homes in Florida and Texas listed under northern Colorado? And why are there five listings for the same thing posted on the same day... at least once a week?

You should be over here. @Gramps said one page back he was/is using Hema. From the other details he listed, I'm guessing it's a case of they weren't ready for prime-time here and caught a bunch of bad reviews early, and now they're making improvements but it's going to take some time to get people to try it again and/or lose the bad reviews.

Interesting. I had read all about the half-baked release of HEMA in North America over the summer and how many people were disappointed with the non polished app. My understanding is that it has been updated (maybe multiple times) since then but many of the poor reviews I read have been since the first of the year. This leads me to believe that work still needs to be done. The apps are the same price so I'm leaning towards Gaia since it has great reviews. With that being said I value first hand experience much higher than what I read on the internet so maybe I can get @Gramps to give me a guided tour of HEMA sometime.

@mountainmonkey I use Gaia and seems to work OK for what I use it for. The only thing I don't like is in low reception areas if I'm mapping a trail it looks fine from a distance but if I zoom in I look like a drunk person doing donuts. So I have to redraw the map in another program anyway.

A small handful of select mods.
We can definitely go through HEMA sometime if you want to. The latest update has fixed a lot of bugs. HEMA is the number app in Australia and I just hope they start to put the same resources against it here. If they do it will be seriously bad ass app for North America.

As you said, that's a function of GPS reception in general mostly, and an external antenna can help with that. With some GPS units/software it can also be affected by an option buried somewhere (if even accessible) typically called snap to roads. You could also see if there are any options to reduce the frequency points are recorded - my Garmin has options to limit it by time or distance.

And while you can just 'redraw' the track, you might also look at using software that can 'clean up' a track. For example Garmin's old software that I use (MapSource) has some tools on one panel to reduce the number of points using a few different methods (minimum spacing, time between, total number of points) and it ends up averaging things out. There are several programs out there that can do this, many of them free. GPS Babel gets mentioned a lot... including by Gaia. Using one of those might save you some time over redrawing it.

I scrub all my tracks manually, because studying the points often tells me where certain things happened (stopped to take a break or had to slow for an obstacle), but that's rather time intensive. Using the automated filters is really quick, but sometimes 'averages' out certain places a little much. If I were going to draw one from scratch myself, I might use a recorded track for a reference but just rely on imagery for what to actually trace.
