2-2.5 Inch Front Level. Need specific answer.

Hey guys,

I am looking at doing a 2-2.5 inch level on the front of my truck. Local shop here said 2.5 inch and nothing in the back is pretty common in these trucks. I have a 17 DC Sport 4x4. Any thoughts on this? Pics? And specifically, what is the best product to use that people are using here?

You should only have about 1" rake. Why would raising the front higher than the rear be common or advised?

I never recommend leveling kits, there is a reason the truck has a slight rake.

 

And what reason is that?

 

Have to admit, a level truck looks trim and tight. But of more importance to me, is when I drop 300lbs of trailer tongue weight on the hitch, that is when I need the truck level. I keep trying to convince myself to raise the front and back the same amount with 5100s and perhaps an AAL, but the truck is set up with 4600s and has the rake I need, and this is WITH a Snugtop shell on it. There is no good reason to raise a truck which is setup correctly from the get go. Oh, wait. I did put a set of Sumo Springs on the truck to help hold up the rear end a little more, and they work very excellently.

Initially, correct. I believe that settles over time. How much, I do not know. But the contact is full time under level ground sitting.

A stock truck sits higher in the back than in the front so that when you put a load in the bed it will level out and not squat.

 

Save your money. Leveling is gay on a TRD.

Turd gen Bilstein 5100s in the front on the 3rd notch should square you up

 

If you're like most people you bought a truck to haul stuff, usually oversized stuff. If its level with the bed empty and you put stuff in the back you squat the back of the truck.

Here's the important part... squat rear end with a load makes steering a little less predictable.

Don't level for looks, keep the rake because it's the smart thing to do.

A 2.5" leveling kit is not level, that's nose high

 

Frankly that's what I was thinking also... This shop is not some crappy shop as they are well known in the massive off-roading community we have were I live. sometimes my truck looks level and sometimes a little rake. I actually just want the front up 2 inches and the back level to it... Needing some guidance here. I don't haul anything...

 

What other information are you looking for?if you really just want to slap on some leveling spacers, 1.5 inch will square you up. Dont end up like this guy..

lol, I couldn't get through that who thread. I honestly just want to lift my truck 2 inches for a more aggressive stance without wearing on the suspension. Just not sure what to really do here. 2.5 inch spacer just in the front seemed odd with nothing in the back...

 

If you want to do 2-2.5 up front, add a 1 inch in the rear with a block or a single aal.

If you just want to level it out, add 1.5 in the front with a spacer or bilstein 5100s on the 3rd notch.
