I walked into the dealership with outside financing in hand. Toyota beat it by 15 basis points if I went through them and bought the extended warranty. Ended up paying 1.9% for 5 years. This was back in June. Toyotas first offer was 4%!

Yep, always give 'em a chance to produce a better rate. Just make sure you completely understand the terms and are comparing apples to apples. While I've met some straight-shooting dealer finance guys, I've met a lot more sleazebags who would have happily hoodwinked anyone who was ill prepared.

In my case the dealer I bought from is connected with my credit union and was able to write the loan onsite. Same rate as going direct to the CU. Win-win. Easy on me, I get my CU's rate, they get the spiff.

I don't know if the dealer I was working with is dumb or maybe just thinks I am but I think he tried to bamboozle me and I dont appreciate it. I posted earlier that I had a quote from this dealer for a 2017 TRD OR with manual transmission and tow package for 32248 +TTL.

I asked for an official quote on a document I could print out and take in with me (Im working my deal through email). I was very very specific in manual transmission and I have an email from him stating in no uncertain terms that this quoted price was for manual transmission. He typed to me "Yes this quote is for the set up with the manual transmission".

When i recieved the pdf quote with a break down of all the cost first he tried to slip in all weather mats ($228) which were never discussed. While I agree all weather mats are a must Ill get better quality for cheaper on my own thanks. My biggest gripe though is that somehow he "Didn't realize I wanted manual and the price he gave me was for automatic" and the price was now 35xxx +TTL for the manual. Again I have him in clear writing where he confirms the price is for the original price he quoted me (32248) was for manual. I told him I would pay the original price and nothing more and I have not heard back since.

I have begun to send the original quote he gave me to other dealers to see if they will match/beat without of course stating that it appears my deal with him is out. I am now wondering if maybe I should take the emails I have to his superiors and see if I can get that original price and maybe even a little extra. Thoughts?

All you can do is try I guess,, but one thing I know about these trucks. There is not enough of the coming off off the assembly line and there is very little wiggle room if any with most dealerships. Best best is to look for one with the highest volume within a 100 mile radius. The further from you the better as most dealers take how far you traveled to get there into consideration.

At this point I would've paid the extra $3000-6000 for a 4x4 though.

Sup fellas, walked into a sweet deal last week and couldn't pass it up. Really enjoying my new ride!

2017 DCSB SR5 4x4 with tow, exterior package, and bed extender $32,212 + TTL. Only time in my life I've ever walked into a car dealer and had the guy open with "It's been a slow month and we're making deals right now..." I think it was about $1300 under invoice.

I negotiated $1790 off of MSRP on my 2017 TRD Sport DCSB 6M.
Went to two dealers and even a company that buys directly from Toyota for larger companies. Dealer 1 hour away treated me best.
This price included them having to bring one in from another dealer 4-5 hours away.

    $29k, brand new 2017 SR5. Cheap because it's not a 4x4.

Next time I'm definitely getting a 4x4 though... my wallet will be ready.

The best way to compare yours to other deals on here is to remove all tag, title and tax fees. These vary by state and complicate comparisons. Doing that for your deal leads to an MSRP of $39124. This means you got a little over $4000 off the MSRP price (10.4%). If you look at other deals on here you will find that to be an excellent deal. Congrats!
