Yeah, I though I'd finish mine in a few weeks, a month max, and was just gonna rent a car temporarily. Less than a week after I started, I bought another Tacoma to drive around.
Yeah, been about 6 months since I started. But quitting my job has created quite a setback :)

I think mine took about 5 and 1/2 months. I already had another vehicle, which helped tremendously.

These big projects take an enourmous amount of time for sure.

Doing a 63 swap in 4 days meaning I'm starting it in a few. Tuesday to be exact. Never said anything about it taking 4 days.

I'm 27 have a 2 year old 2 brand new vehicles a 4bedroom house and a some other toys. Bought the house when I was 22 with my wife. I know how much a solid axle swap consists of. I've done 2 but not on tacomas.

Forgot to add in a couple years I'll be in a new position at work and get a company car and a 15k raise if not more. So I think most of my debt will be gone in the 4 that I'm using to pay off stuff. Hope that helps you better understand my situation.

Hey if were talking about money, I can say I'm probably one of the dumbest fuckers that spent the most of their SAS and truck throughout the years. I'm over 60k so far and that's not part of the truck hahahah......so anyone wanna buy this pos for 10k LOL

I see the confusion. My 63 swap will be done not the whole swap. That's going to be 4 or more years down the road inches it's paid off and I save up some jack to drop on the truck.

Yea, from IFS lifts, to 5 sets of tires (I include that shit, can't drive a truck without tires) to D44, to upgraded D44, to link D44, to D60 links, supercharger, cage, no cage, more tires, more shiny parts haha.

If I ever do it again, I'm buying a built project, so much easier on the wallet.

I honestly have never messed with links which. Is going to be fun. I've got @allenfab not even 15 minutes away I'm sure if I asked and offered to pay for some of his assistance he would help. I've read the thread in here if the silver one ton beast a few times. Even asked to get some link brackets built but no response. I can mimic stuff pretty well if I have enough pictures same as I did for my us off-road bumper I built using a few pictures I found on photobucket. Todd already told me to come look at it but just haven't had time to get over that way.

That's what I figured you meant, but that could have easily been read a different way. You gonna start a build thread?

Have a build thread in my sig just a few different things I've done from stock. Went the whole 20x12 look then off-road it a bit and found out that suck. Getting tires of the expos so I sold them and no putting 63s on with 14" 5125s.

When I start the swap in the front I'll do a new thread in solid axle section.

as long as you are not buying somebody else's POS project that has a million hidden issues :D

If you did what you have now (D60, links, full hydro, etc.) from the very beginning it would have been cheaper in the long run.

Here I am preaching again on the same thing I've said a million times before haha

Thats easy to avoid if you actually look at the truck, drive it, and climb under it all during the day before handing over a huge stack of cash and the guy leaves.

12" maybe? I don't remember exactly. But mounted mine on the front crossmember. The radiator is out in the pic but the radiator sits perfectly behind it.

Im running the 10" model, seems alot of the more common models are much larger.

Thought I read somewhere it needed to be above the steering box, but below the reservoir to avoid air pockets. Can't seem to find that info though, may or may not be.

Mines in the same location as allenfabs roughly. 12" derale, works great. Would recommend a longer one if you can fit it though, that fucker can get hot.
