Why in hell would they only spray a color every other month? Seems like Cement is a popular color for the PRO. Artificial scarcity?

It's probably a big process to clean all those robots and get them spraying a different color

Thank you! I'm not sure what my guy used, he just matched the rear. No im not worried. If I have to rip it off once a year so be it. $65 for 2 windows isn't going to kill me

Guys now that the truck is coming I'm getting a little nervous. I just want to make sure I'm making the right decision between the taco and the t4r

Did you test drive any trim of the tacoma before you bought one or put a deposit on one? The power is going to be the same, the suspension is the only difference.

It honestly comes down to if you want a truck or suv. The power delivery is also going to be different between the two.

I'm most likely going to be trying to schedule one for this week. I'm mostly considering the space. Looks to me like the t4r is allot more spacious on the inside. I sat in the taco but didn't drive it.

The tacoma has never been a spacious vehicle. If you are going to be hauling people with you often the 4runner will be the way to go.

Well if I were to be honest I barely ever use my back seat in my second gen 4 runner. It's a just in case thing. I really don't know I'm just kinda nervous I guess. I love the looks of the taco allot more and I would love having a bed. I'm just nervous. I have a 4 runner and love it so I guess I'm biased.

Just relax and enjoy your truck. If anything happens that's what your warranty is for.

    Gentleman,

I received my White TRD Pro about ten days ago. I've put 420 miles on it and washed it for the first time today, and noticed something that looked like rust. However, you can scrape it off with your finger. I'm wondering if any of you have noticed a similar issue with yours?

Hopefully, these pics will show up. I Googled it and found some site that talked about break dust and some sort. However, it's all along the driver's side and passenger side of the truck. Not on the hood or roof that I've found.

Had that on my FJ roof. From what I can tell, its metallic particles (brake dust, dust from parking structures, etc) that has rusted. This was especially common when driving in the city, parking in a structure, driving home and leaving it out and the morning dew started causing oxidation.

Clay bar will take some of it off, so best you can do is keep it clean. And avoid white cars.

So am I just being paranoid? I found a couple of spots inside the door as well.

Whoa, that's strange. I've had black dots like that on my truck which is artillery mold. Nightmarish crap... but yours does look like rust. Keep us updated.

I should add that you can scrape it off with your fingernail. The paint doesn't appear to be pitted or bubbling like you would normally see with rust. I'm not sure what to think.

I bought the truck in Phoenix, Arizona and had it shipped to SLC, Utah, so I can't just run to the dealer I bought it from. Not sure how my local Toyota dealer would respond to this issue. They claimed all the Pro's they were allocated for 2017 were spoken for. That was a familiar story at the other local dealers.

You can ask if they will comp an exterior pro-detailing job, usually around $100. Its not rust on the body, but micro-iron particles that get embedded in the paint/clearcoat that rusts. Some quality time with a thorough wash and clay bar will get most of it out, then polish and wax.
