Driver front wheel bearing started making noise on my FJ (spidertrax/true 35s). Order placed. Hope to see it before the weekend!

 

I placed an order last Wednesday and havnt received a ship date yet so I'm not sure what his lead time currently is.

 

Emailed him upon order and he quickly responded that he could get it to me by this weekend. Contact him, could be in route and merely missed notifying you. I was a one man show when Zeusmotorworks was open. Missed a thing or two myself, but always made it right.

 

I had the same concerns when I bought mine, but I DID order in the middle of the holidays too. I think @Zeusmotorworks is spot on, my impression is that Kev is a one man show with a day job, but he does super quality work and he is refreshingly meticulous with packaging (I wish half of my electronic devices from Amazon came packaged that well). It is worth it for a quality product, no worries.

 

I'm not concerned by any stretch, was just trying to give Zeus a heads up on potential time frame. His good rapport with his customers here is why I chose to do business with him over others in the first place.

 

I'll put it this way , Kev might not respond the fastest as you'd like, and sometimes orders slip through the cracks of getting updates, but you're gonna get a quality product in a pretty good amount of time. Initally I got a quote from Kev for a hub but I needed it within a week and I didnt think he'd be able to do it, so I bought an ebay hub that said they used quality parts as well for about the same price...one trip to Pismo and the hub is already bouncing around. And thats how you spell regret lol

Kev, thanks for the tracking info and offering this service. I don't trust the loose nuts behind a wrench here. It's the reason I still do my all my own work that I'm tooled for. Sorry this thread took a left turn for a moment.

I ordered the hubs exactly 2 weeks ago. No hubs, no shipping notifications, no tracking numbers.

How long can you drive with noisy bearings? Any wheels coming off reported?

Mine arrived Friday and was installed an hour later.

 

That varies greatly. Mine sounded like it was about to fall off. Serious dry grinding noises. However, it had next to no play. Was sweating it a little as I had to drive it a week longer than I wanted. On the flip side I've seen others with little noise and the freakin wheel wobbled!

Well the passenger side bearing is on its way out. Started making the howling noise above 40 mph now. If I wasn't sick as a dog and going of of town next weekend, i'd do it myself, but I think this time I'm gonna just have the shop do it. They are really good and reasonable.

 

The Prerunner is easy to do. I have one ready to ship if interested.

 

Suuuuuper easy lol. Take wheel off, 6 bolts off, 6 bolts on, wheel back in place.

 

yeah I lknow, but like I said, i'm sick as a dog right now, and won't have time to do it anyway until after I go out of town next weekend, and I was hoping to get it fixed before then.
