Hey guys, i just got 285/75/16 bgs km2 on my truck. I got a 3 in leveling kit and the truck looks great. But i do have some rubbing issue which i figured i would. Both of the front tires are rubbing my upper control arms and the right tire on the inside is rubbing the frame a lil bit. i am concerned with the rubbing on the upper contol arms more than anythings else. I took the truck to the guy who did it and he said lets put some spacers so he ordered me an inch and a half spacers which im currently waiting on to get in and installed. Is this the right thing to do? i dont want my tires to sit outside the fender and i dont think its gonna make it that far out. Ive heard that the spacers will ruin my tires and cause it to be out of balance is this right?let me know what you guys think thanks. oh and my pics are in my profile.

Unless you are planning to run aftermarket wheels with backspacing less than or equal to 4.5" (stock is 5.5) you will have to run spacers.

It will widen your truck's stance by 3", so it may stick out of the fender wells a bit.

you will need spacers with your stock rims and 285 tires.
    I'd suggest spidertrax spacers.
they're 1.25 inch spacers and top of thier class

well the more "proper" but costly thing to do would be to buy wheels with the right backspacing(around 4'') but wheel spacers to the same damn thing. they defenitly wont ruin your tires. and they wont hurt the balance of ur wheels because a shop wont balance the wheels with the spacers attached to them. The only thing that they could ever hurt is your wheel bearings and thats only if ya went with way to big of spacers

If you have stock wheel then you need spacers but if you run the spacers your gonna have to some trimming with ur fenders because they'll rub on the fenders alot more but won't rub on anything else.

Actually, I think 4.5" bs will work just fine. I run 285/60/18's with 4.5" bs wheels and have a little rub, but nothing a little trim didn't fix. Well, minus the mud flaps, of course.

there's no getting around the width of the tire u got not sticking out the fender and not rubbing. the most proven spacers are the 1.25" spidertrax. they are like $120 for 2, IIRC. you may be able to find them on here in the B/S/T section or like TTORA or something. i'd get 4 just for aesthetics.

you need 4 to run without any issues to the 4x4
it keeps the wheels the same so as not to hurt the wheel turning radius,
and as said above and in many many many many many many topics(use
search) 1.25 is what you need. total of 3in wider total. you MAY run bigger
spacers but you can hurt your wheel bearings(think of a fulcrum arm).spidertrax are 97.99/pair on wheelers plus shipping...

Another question, what if i decided not to put spacers on my truck at all, what problems would i run into? i mean the only time it rubs is when its locked. i just dont like how it looks when tires stick out the fenders,i realize that i have no choice to get them but i cant decide whether to get the 1.5'' i already ordered and the 150$ for all four the dude is giving me a deal. But should i wait and try and get the 1.25'' spidertrax spacers? thanks

Hold the phone....you may want to remove those....they look like lug centric spacers...you need hubcentric. there was a member on here a few months ago who accidentally got the lug centric spagers, and the bolts sheered off while he was sitting at a stoplight
