Where does everyone get their truck smogged?
I've been going to Smog It on Haley St for years but, I'm kind of tired of spending $50 for this service. Anyone know where I can get it done cheaper?
I'm going to try to get this done on my lunch break today...

I was up at Jalama Saturday to check out the size of the waves, go for a family drive, & eat a Jalama Burger. The waves were pretty big and there was quite a bit of white water. There was this family from out of town( couple in their 50's with a older mother and some other family/friends) standing by the shore. The white water from this one set came up quickly, got them wet, and took the older Mom down. She was unable to get up and as the water receded it started to pull her out towards the ocean. The family was holding on to her and struggled with not letting the water pull her out. Others ran over to help her including my lady & I. By the time my lady got there, the family finally were able to get her to her feet. The older woman was not hurt but certainly taken back by the whole ordeal. Not to mention soaking wet and pretty cold. She said to my lady, "I've lived by the ocean my whole life and I've never experienced anything like this!". They got her in their auto and drove away. They had Carolina plates...I think it was North Carolina.
Poor lady almost got sucked out into the surf.

What was even more shocking to me was that...just a little north of the Jalama Beach Store there was a couple with their 2 young children right where the white water was coming up the beach!
If it can take down an adult and prevent them from getting up, it certainly could pull a kid out!

Good on ya for jumping in to lend a hand. I stopped by surf beach the other day to check out the waves, and they must have been at least 20', maybe 25' in some spots...

Damn, that's crazy that some people just don't understand the power of the ocean. Good for you Theo

Don't get me wrong though, there have been plenty of times where I have felt like I was either going to drown from being held down or I was going to be sucked out into the deep during large swells!!

As Skinny Pete once said in the beloved Marky Mark flic, "If there's one thing I know, it's never to mess with mother nature, mother in-laws and, mother freaking Ukrainians." :anonymous:

I'm going the other direction to LA for the weekend. Should be a nice weekend in Pismo since everyone will be watching Super Bowl.

    What time?

In other news: After 9 years, my Engel fridge MR040 compressor has bit the dust. I think it chilled enough beverage in its day...RIP little buddy

Do you know how to repair? It's a leak or it's a new motherboard since there's power but no compressor turning on.

Dawn patrol most likely, and stay out as long as the weather/waves permits. No need to hurry into work, right?

I'd join you if I didn't have a shoulder injury. Been going to PT so, hopefully I'll be back at it sooner than later. Catch some for me! I'm jonesing for waves!

That's a bummer. I feel like you've been in PT forever! When do you think you'll be back in the water?
