LED Lighting Conversion

I have been searching hard and have been unable to come up with the proper size and replacement for the 2017 Tacoma Sport dome light. I want to replace the current bulb with an LED. Does anyone have the number of a sub I can use. Some say it takes a 29mm, others say 31mm. I am lost. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The owners manual lists part numbers for all bulbs except this one, and that hurts finding a substitute LED bulb.

 

I'd say 31 is max. It will fit 29-30 nicely

 

So you know for sure that a 31mm LED bulb will fit the 2017 TRD dome receptacle?

 

Anyone else having this problem? The brightness seems to be interfering with my reverse cam. Not sure if I should try to order a less bright light.

 

I think I tried 31 and decided against it. I finally just gave in and ordered from diode dynamics and the one they sent was a perfect fit.

 

Do you know what size the one they sent was?

 

I don't. And it isn't listed on their site. I'll try to find a ruler and measure.

 

This may sound obvious...that is how my backup cam looks post snowfall from moisture and salt.

Is lense permanently scratched?

 

When it's wet, the occurs gets all fragmented like this too but that is expected.
No, during daytime and night with the lights off it looks fine.

I don't have a ruler but my measuring tape says 1.25"~32mm. I could have sworn the 31mm was a pain to get in there, not sure why the 32mm fit

The ones I returned because of fitment were the yorkim the op posted.

Wanted to go LED but watching this video is makin me lean towards HIDS for the headlights and LEDs for the Fogs so I can have yellow lighting.. If the Light quality isnt as good with LED why is everyone hard dicked into sticking these into there headlights?

 

Had this problem after I installed leds in the License plate lighting. I think due to the Camera facing down and the LEDS shining up at it, possibly causing the glare. I am going to test it out some more but may change them back to reg bulbs, idk yet.

 

Just from my experience... I have a 2017 and ordered the OP listed dome light. It didn't fit.. Plus I messed up the bracket to hold it in place... and a fuse was blown. Been driving a month without interior lights because I'm too lazy to replace the fuse.

 

I've heard of a guy that has a nice interior LED kit for your Tacoma.. lol

 

That is great to know. Retrofit Source states and even larger dome light size, 44mm I think.

 

I just went out and took the OEM bulb out of my 2017 TRD Sport Access cab and measured it. It is a little less than 31mm and it was tight to get out. A 30mm or even 29mm will fit perfectly.
