There is a guy in our club who did that with an older CJ using the 22RE and axles/drivetrain from a Toyota pickup. Drove it down from Walden twice a month for meetings and the trip for a couple years.

Yeah plenty has been done to change it and get around it since then. But just think, we might have defenders and hilux and others if not for the momentum killer.

There's still emissions, crash standards, etc that don't help... But what if!

I'm sure there are plenty of people who were/are happy with their Jeep. I'm just speaking from my experiences.

Nope, there is nothing to stop them from doing this. There is, what I think is a myth, universal Automaker group think that you must design cars for Americans and then one for everyone else.

Take your Hilux= rest of world has it, Tacoma & Tundra= North America only. Mitsubishi Pajero= Rest of World, Hole SUV line-up= USA. The example are endless and USA automakers do the same, look at Opal's (GM brand) sold in Europe.

@Martyinco you should create a TW sticker for us (please offer some in subdued colors). Get Sean to get OK on using the Logo.

-Input speed sensor took a shit and I thought the trans had actually blown up on the way to work. Aftermarket sensor was like $15 or something and that was it. Somehow that's almost more annoying.
-Crank position sensor took a shit. Jeep would turn over and not start until you pulled fuses and kicked it enough to finally catch ignition. Crank sensor is also sub $20.
-Rear hatch lock actuator took a shit. Couldn't lock the rear.

    ZJ:
-BCM took a shit. Lights, power windows, and power locks were inoperable
-Coolant sensor took a shit. Annoying, non-stop update in center console

These are just the ones that come to mind immediately.

I like to use ORACAL 651 for my outdoor stuff, so pretty much any color they offer I can use for stickers.

    I've owned two jeeps:

    1. First car was a 74 cj5 with a 3speed and the amc 304 v8. Pretty fun/scary combo.

    2. Was a 86 Cherokee with a gm 2.8 v6....... Good: cost $300, bad: everything else

Did a little soundproofing yesterday with some peel and seal... didn't make as much of a difference as I had hoped, but I have yet to do the doors which I think should help- there was actually already some soundproofing on the floor from a PO that I wasn't expecting

The stuff pictured it the OEM coating. Also, the carpet should have been backed with a grey felt insulation. Looks really good what you are doing there. The doors and inside the quarters could help a lot. Those masonite door panels and interior panels don't add much for noise canceling.

Cool, I wasn't sure exactly where it came from... The carpet did have a backing, although some of it got ripped off when I was pulling up the carpet. I was wondering if some sort of thin rubber or anti-fatigue mat under the carpet would also make a difference?

So who is the Toyota mechanic in Littleton? @thefatkid ?

Looking at a possible pre purchase inspection need.

    Hey all,

Just found out I am getting a transfer from here in Wyoming to Denver. Figured this would be a good area to poke in and get some opinions on places to live and such.

New office will be in downtown Denver, and I am supposed to start the 1st of March.

Also if anyone knows of a decent hotel in downtown casper that would be good for extended stay that doesn't break the bank that would be a bonus as well.
