Something else to consider, in most cases you can finance a new vehicle at a lower interest rate than you can a used vehicle. That makes a difference in your monthly payment. With this one being a 17 there may not be any difference and you could be paying cash, I don't know.

If I was you. I would point at those decals and ask for a discount.

I know you might be a little more disgruntled than most others, but yes, I agree that there might be a good (or bad) reason why it was returned.

You guys are awesome for all of your responses. I should have added originally that this was bought by a Ford guy who traded it in after 1,000 miles because he preferred a F-150 according to the dealer (and this is parked at a Ford dealer)

Also, I have my own financing set up at an aggressive rate already so wouldn't pursue financing options through other means. I also have a trade in the form of a 2007 JEEP Commander that can most likely net $6500-$7200 on a trade-in.

Interested in tacoflavoredkisses1 and allrsd70's deals! Those are some great prices and certainly put this one in perspective.

If you like it, get it. But at least try to get it $2000 cheaper.

Because it's used, you should be able to take long test drive. If you like the truck but don't like the deal, then price a new one and compare. If yo walk away, they usually call you with a better price, the n make up your mind. You should drive an off road model, they have a softer ride that you may or may not like. That PO probably didn't like ducking his head to get in, as the roof line is low and that is what makes them look cool. The inside is more like a car than a truck.

A certified preowned truck will have a better warranty but you won't get that at a Ford dealership

I just clicked the link it shows 32K, that doesn't seem to bad. I'm not a big fan of the stuff stuck all over it.

I wouldn't pay over invoice for a truck with 1100 miles on it. Either get the price down or get them to give you $2000 more for your trade.

Personally, I'd put out an inquiry on Truecar.com and see what comes back. I've noticed TONS of Tacomas on the lot at the dealerships by me. They're making some deals, especially given that it's the last day of the month.

I paid 31K for my 2016 TRD sport, new (including tow package). TTL were extra. I would pay no more than 30k for that... you dont know what happened during those 1100 miles, other than the stickers all over which add 75hp.

    Good luck!

Just to give you another data point. I paid under $32 for my TRDOR 4x4 with 6MT. Deals are definitely out there if you don't get in a hurry. I also picked up an extra $2000 over the dealer's trade offer by selling to a private party in the 4 months it took for my truck to arrive. Truck sold in 1 day on Craigslist with literally zero hassles.

With that pricing, I would go new as well. Some of the styling points on that truck, in my opinion, is a bit tacky.

    .
Negotiate for a new one at a lower price with less "bling". Order it for best price.

FWIW ... those "GT Rocker Stickers" look a little weird o_O

Keep in mind that dealers have a lot of mark up in used vehicles especially early on. In 2009 I bought a 2009 Prerunner DCSB TRD OR w/factory tow for $1350 more than the dealer wanted for a 2008 non TRD with dealer installed tow hitch and 30k on the clock. When I told them how much I would pay for the 2008 the sales dude called his manager over and they started crying about how much they had in it. I told them that that was their problem not mine.

I wouldn't buy that truck on the account that my fingers will hurt peeling all that junk stickers off.

They lie like hell too. I bought a current year model Z-71 with 5K miles on it and they didn't want to negotiate at all. I found the previous owner's paperwork in the center console and showed it to the sales guy who had gone inside for a minute to "talk to the manager." They suddenly were willing to give me the exact price I was looking for.

An update is that they have now offered $30,678 as the sale price of the vehicle, after TTL it's probably right at $33K or slightly below.
