Looking to at least put some new speakers in my Taco. Non-JBL access cab. I don't mind the head unit but i'd love to figure something out to get a little more low end. One of the main issues with my truck is that on low notes the doors rattle like CRAZY. I tried sound taping the window switch plates to no avail.

Add an amp, power some front component speakers and add a sub so the low frequencies are handled by that and not your door speakers!

Very simple yet very effective to get better sound... however my door speakers still rattle my window switch plates.. You could get some camper topper seal and try to put that under the plates. I have some left over and that is what i have been planning to do, however i have not gotten around to it yet.

It seems like its now the whole door shell that is rattling. If I pull slightly on the grab handle or rest my foot on the door it goes away. So annoying.

Deaden your doors. A 10-pack of CLD tiles and a roll of butyl rope from SDS will go a long way and should only run about $40 shipped. I use little slices of foam for different rattles in the interior.

Interesting... I have rattle trap in my doors and behind the back seats... but what does the butyl rope do? Also, what sort of foam do you use for interior rattles?

The rope is the same butyl used in the tiles - just in ~1/2 inch rope form. I stick it between the impact beams and the door skin mostly (leave holes for drainage), but also any place it might come in handy - like when mounting speakers (around the edge of the baffle)

Or mounting MLV to the bottom of the cargo hatches

to re-use the stock foam rings

    ...etc...

For foam, I use closed-cell garage door seals...just because I have a roll lying around.
