I'm curious why you think that's different? Texas fought a war and won against Mexico, then the US fought a war and won against Mexico.

What about wearing the Union Jack on clothing? That was popular several years ago. We won a war against the UK too.

another good point. contrary to popular belief, Lincoln was not anti-slavery. in fact, he didn't give a shit about slavery or black people, it was just a political platform he used when the need suited him. Frederick Douglass, a freed slave, was one of the most intelligent men in the nation. he actually met Lincoln and had a very low opinion of him, read any of his books.

i think you should be able to fly whatever flag you want, as long as it is UNDER the American Flag. i would never fly the reble flag over the American flag. if you are Mexican and proud of it, fine, raise a flag, but if you live in America you better not fly it above the American flag. that goes for any nation or any citizen

Exactly. I think it's hilarious that Lincoln has a monument, and people think he was such a great president. He's been quoted many times as saying if he could have put down the southern rebellion without freeing a single slave he would have. The Emancipation Proclamation was intended as a slap in the face to the southern people.

Lincoln suspended habeus corpus and tossed around 10,000 union citizens in jail WITHOUT trial, because he feared their cooperation with the Confederacy. He was spitting on the Constitution the textbooks say he was trying so desperately to uphold. He wanted his generals to wage open war on the south, without mercy. He didn't care about southerners staying in the Union. He wanted to be the all-powerful president who brought us back. Union Gen. Sherman burned Atlanta, GA to the ground and had plans to do the same to my city, Charleston, SC. I won't ignore that.

Gen. Grant, another "great" yankee to later become president. Grant was a drunk, and a Godless man. I'd imagine most are unaware of his "General Order No. 11." It was issued in 1862, and finally overturned a year later. It took a year's time and thousands of letters and telegrams, the greatest political pressure of the time, for Lincoln to be convinced it needed overturning... come on.

General Order No. 11 decreed as follows:
    1. The Jews, as a class violating every regulation of trade established by the Treasury Department and also department orders, are hereby expelled from the Department [of the Tennessee] within twenty-four hours from the receipt of this order. 2. Post commanders will see to it that all of this class of people be furnished passes and required to leave, and any one returning after such notification will be arrested and held in confinement until an opportunity occurs of sending them out as prisoners, unless furnished with permit from headquarters. 3. No passes will be given these people to visit headquarters for the purpose of making personal application of trade permits.[4]

The order went into immediate effect, with Jewish traders and families in Holly Springs, Mississippi, Oxford, Mississippi, and Paducah, Kentucky being forced to leave the territory.

Are you kidding me?? These are the so-called yankee hero's. The South is labeled as the bad guys, and look at all that nonsense!
Judah P. Moses, incidentally the father of the Georgia Peach, was a Jew who served as Attorney General, Secretary of War, and Secretary of State for the Confederacy, under Pres. Jefferson Davis, and he is so-called the "brains of the Confederacy."

Remember folks, the victor records the history. It's easy for the Union to look so golden and good in the public school textbooks without considering ANY actual fact.
Those who wish to mock the Confederacy, and what it stood for, can wallow in their ignorance.
Minorities of all backgrounds, stood willingly under the Southern Cross, and fought TOGETHER as a Southern People... white, black, Mexican, Jewish, Native American, and Cuban.
Diaries recovered from the time, here in Charleston, SC record that black militiamen were seen, jumping and cheering when they heard they would have a chance to shoot at yankees.
The War of Northern Agression, will to me, and in reality always be a battle of South vs North. It was never white vs black for the Southern People, and it disgraces the children of black confederate veterans to even say such a thing.
As for me, I'll fly the Southern Cross, thank you much.

I read a few months ago about a Texan who got in trouble because he climbed a flag pole and cut down the Mexican flag above some restaurant because they where flying it above the American Flag. He also took the American flag and said that he was a veteran and they could have it back when they respect it.

that was actually a video that someone posted on here. he didnt climb the pole. he was a vietnam vet and he saw some store owned by a mexican down the street (dont know if it was a resturant or what) but it had the American flag under the Mexican flag. he walked over there holding a Ka-bar, and lowered the two flags. he cut the Mexican flag down and threw it on teh ground, then took the American flag and told the guy he can have it back when he respects it. Apparently the story had been flagged to a local news team, and shortly after they arrived was when the man cut down the flags, so it was all caught on tape. it was pretty cool. i always wondered if the guy got in trouble or not. He basically said he'd be damned if he fought for his country to see another countries flag flyin over his

I was being a poor funny as the mexican flag is really in the same class its just liked a lot less by the genral population in this area.
My standard response to someone that keeps complaining how where they come from is better anbout everything is whjy dont you go back there.
We have the biggest melting pot in the world and the stromngest belief I have is not to push my values on someone else or have theirs pushed on me .
    Pushed being the majic word.
If I can talk you into thiking my way then all is fair but if I make you think my way then its a bad thing

I know I'm guilty of ignorance when I see a rebel flag. My first thought is redneck trailer park living fool, and in some cases, especially here in good 'ole Manassas VA, there are people who reinforce my opinion.
I personally don't care what kind of flag somebody chooses to fly, if it floats your boat, so be it.

I fly the "Betsy Ross" flag at the house, I choose to honor the thirteen original states.
