I did my install with strictly this set of sockets. I did have to run back out to Lowe's and get some long extensions for that spring bolt you're referring to.

My DeWalt impact also laughed at me when I attempted removal on that bolt. I used a "cheater bar" out of a pipe and got really pissed and it eventually popped off.

My biggest problem was the air watcha-mah-call-it, it was not CNC'd correctly and I didn't have a grinder or a file, so I had to sit there with a flat head screwdriver and sand paper to flush it down to fit on the header. Other than that, the install was great and after a few cycles the performance has been worth EVERY dollar and EVERY minute of frustration.

My Ram has bolts that require 275 foot pounds of torque and that is just to remove the brake caliper adapter. I'd rather not run a 3 foot breaker bar every time.

What impact do you have? Do you have this beast?

    https://www.amazon.com/DEWALT-DCF899B-Brushless-Torque-Impact/dp/B00WJA1J68

I haven't found anything that it won't take off or break out of its way. Only thing I did find out is that regular extensions and sockets dampen the shock of the impact and don't let it perform as well.

I avoid DeWalt. I've been screwed at a few job sites because of over heating them in one days worth of work. Ran my makita drill to the point it was smoking and it still works to this day.
Don't forget DeWalt batteries die fast. I still have 2 batteries from 3 years ago.

Sorry for you luck. I have an in at DeWalt so I get the stuff really cheap and it's always been good to me. Plus they are local.

You didn't need a 12mm wrench for the middle left lower bolt of the header? I couldn't get an extension through it or the ratchet with a short socket. I'm curious about the whatchumacallit. What exactly is it lol

These sockets have both metric and standard in the same sockets.

It's the air injection unit that didn't fit back properly.

This thread explains what I was talking about. (This is also the thread where I bought my header from) https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/fs-lc-engineering-headers-tacoma-2-7l-4cyl-05-13.435592/

Oh and looking back on this, I used an open end 12mm wrench to get it off and back on.

It was also the ONLY nut that caused me to have a busted knuckle. It was a pretty bad cut and I'm sure the pain fueled me up for that spring bolt.

Oh no I'd don't have this beast.

I'm referring to the 18v baby impact for carpentry work.

    Local is always a plus.
I have had bad luck with just about every DeWalt product I've owned although the drill bits are not half bad especially for drilling composite and wood. The impact adapter for the 1/4 inch QD chuck lived a long life as did the Makita brand. Currently I'm using a Milwaukee impact adapter because I had gotten it dirt cheap.

My Makita is similar. This was the impact I was referring to. Lots of power and in some cases too much power. Like I said shearing bolts with ease. :D

I know the exact component you speak of. Personally I have not had to remove it but when I do I will check it as well as the flange it attaches to for trueness.

Man that guy got lit up. Drama in the TC world

I'm so glad they revised it and that no longer has to be done.

Now that I've been driving my truck more and the ecm has been making its adjustments I do feel more power and ease. Very happy. Now got an itch for the flow master 50 2.25" to lower the torque peek a little more as @tooter dynos reflect.

Drama where? Couldn't agree more with the gentleman.

I hate doing things twice. So I'll check next time thanks to his experience.

Yea I was just joking. I'm glad this site is up. If not I couldn't get all these ideas to customize my truck.

    Lol. Any time.

Totally off subject but do you have Fog lights? If not I'd recommend some. My 05 had decent lighting but since I added the fog lights and some Hella 100/80 watt Bulbs installed can actually see at night.

I don't!! But I def want some just don't know which ones to buy and not sure how hard the install will be. Concerned about the wiring. How hard was it?

Also on speakers. Did you change yours?
