Yes and I'm ashamed to say I didn't think of you in the first place. Amber DOT approved led fog lights. Where can I find them?

I recently got my truck inspected and said f#ck it. I left my amber film on my fogs. The inspector didn't even bat an eye.

The Toyota dealer on the other hand was citing all kinds of stuff, even the led tag lights not being "DOT" approved. How the hell do they know they're not DOT approved????

It really depends on how slack or how strict your inspector is or maybe if his wife is giving him any. Everything is illegal in VA. o_O

A friend put the films on his fogs and they passed. I was under the impression amber was good forward facing. I haven't done an inspection in like 10 years

I hadn't thought that far ahead I figured they were a pretty standard size. I'm going to check the PIAA ones out and I guess I should measure the holes in the bumper. I knoe they were cut to fit Toyota fogs

Yes I'm sure, but I seriously doubt they opened them up just to look, unless they were looking to make a buck or two with their "complimentary" unofficial safety inspection.

There's a smoked set of fogs they sell on eBay for Tacomas that come with the wire harness and housing. Not sure about the switch. I would go with a Toyota OEM Fog light switch and wiring it up would require Mikes help.

The Toyota stealership said you can't have any covers on them, yet for off road lights, covers are mandatory to be able to pass inspection. Crazy.

I saved the thread so I canread it tomorrow. I know they're out there I just have to find them. They're going to have to be adjustable since they are so high up in the bumper.

I've used a transparent spray paint before. Came from my modeling days.
Was paid to turn a lola rim that Linda St. JAMES trashed in a wreck years ago, into a light.
I got the tire and rim mounted to plywood and put fluorescent diffuser behind rim painted the inside with transparent red, got red rope lights and wrapped around rim inside tire and wired up to a motion detector.
When people walked by in bar it lit up as if it were spinning.
