I just want to change my OEM lights into PURE WHITE lights

Xenon thing is cool, but I dont want to go to HID

what do you guys recommend? why is it so hard to find PURE white lights!!

so do u go with Sylvania? Phillips? GE??

please help, I want the brightest and WHITEST lights!

sylvania silverstar ultras look pretty good and bright to me.....not sure how long they last tho.

What you are asking for are HID's.

There is no substitute for HID's...just bite the bullet!

 

I dont want HID lights
but there has to be a BULD that is ACTUALLY WHITE and not those OEM yellow standard lights!

HID lights use xenon gas.

 

It isnt possible to make a pure bright white with a halogen bulb. That intensity and color spectrum cant be found at the voltage halogen requires to run...

But if you insist.. sylvania silverstars are pretty much your only option.

My Sylvania's cost me about $40.00. I just put them in 2 weeks ago. I like the difference from the stock yellow lights.

Hids are the way to go. Mine also came with a lifetime warranty so in the long run they may be less costly then replacing the halogens at $40 a pair. plus the hids can get you the pure white light youre looking for. look into 4300k hids.

 

I have tested the Sylvania Sivlerstars against the OSRAM Nightbreaker. Hands down to the OSRAM Nightbreaker. The best light I have ever used.

I know they are illegal to use in fogs so i run Sylvania in those.

The Nightbreaker is an ultra bright white light that has a very distinct pattern. They spread the whole road as well as point way further down it then Sylvanias.

Only problem is everyone thinks it is your brights.

I recently moved my Hella 500s from behind my grill to aux reverse lights because i couldn't see them due to the Nightbreaker headlights.

 

Its so hard because it doesn't exist...PURE white lights don't exist in halogen bulbs. The only way to get the yellow out of a halogen bulb is to tint the bulb glass, thus doing that KILLS the light output. The silverstar ULTRAs kelvin temperature is 4100k which still has a yellow tint.

HID temperature starts at 4300k usually and goes up over 12000k. Around 5000k will be the closest to white light. 6000k starts to give you a very slight blue tint.

Halogens would be the silverstar ultras or some of the osrams, but the brightest and whitest will always be hid until the led technology comes along.

 

piaa has a selection of halogen bulbs with a warranty on them too, i believe its a year

hid's wont screw anything up. they use less voltage than the stock halogen bulbs so wires being overloaded and popping fuses shouldnt be a prob. also i think the temperature they put out (air temp) is less than the halogen bulbs so the light housing shouldn't be a risk either

 

I saw a video on HID, they do look easy to install the HID

what size are the bults? 9003 right?

 

im ordering ddm tuning hid's 35w at 5000k, pure white, thats what i'd go with buddy, and they take 20 minutes to put in... i helped my buddy put them in his truck
