Maybe, ive just always been taught that ground is ground is ground, and a frame has less resistance then any cable.

A lot of the time people who are upgrading their sound system to something with more bass will do the big 3 upgrade. The guy who sparked all the talk about this upgrade is installing a sub. Usually subs draw alot of power on big bass drops so a better wiring system will help accommodate for the power drawn.

    Just a few LEDs...
Much less resistance in a properly sized and properly grounded copper wire, than a steel frame.

How hard it was for you to get to those bolts? I'm debating on doing it myself or paying... all depends how much of a pain it is, if is not too bad I'll do it myself.

I had my roommate help me out but it was a pain in the ass. It took us 4 hours. I have little hands so getting to the small clearance areas was easy. I would have some spare hardware on hand I almost cross threaded one bolt putting it back on.

The basics are T-Slot nuts from Amazon, u-channel aluminum, quick fist mounts (also Amazon) and fasteners to hold it all together. I spent a good while in Ace eyeballing everything to be sure it fit but ended up using every piece I brought home and needed no trips back which is always a plus. I have the list in my shop and will update this post when I am home. Also can snap some close-ups of them if you're interested.

I originally planned on using steel, but the u-channel aluminum provided the rigidity I needed and was easier to work with for this project.

Didn't post over the weekend because one of my minis came down with bronchitis (she's fine now), but finally got my 6.5" fosgates in my rear doors. Also put in the foam rings around them because they were recommended. I think the improvement in sound is noticeable. Now I just need to figure out a sub/amp combo to really get my oontz-oontz on...!
