I'm not feisty. I'm simply stating facts.

The tables have been slanted for foreign companies in this global market, and away from American labor since we here have to conform to EPA, OSHA and other regulatory institutions that drive up cost.

Add on top of that stolen design, and support for that behavior due to cost and it really diminishes the value of the American people.

You hinted at making bumpers, possibly. Heed the Ebay bumper thread and what's in there.

Make a good product, don't spend hours on R&D (it's just a damn bumper), and don't charge a 400% markup on it.

Oreos are knock offs... heck half the people on here yesterday that are not well endowed slipped on a pair of fauxleys when they got in their truck. it sucks but it happens, I used to install storm shelters for a company that had been doing that for like 20 years. their design was pretty much the standard both for in ground and saferooms. there were companies popping up all the time that made basically the same thing and sold it for basically the same price or a little cheaper. The owner said that a patent wouldn't work because they could change one thing like the flange for the bolts, or they way it vented or the door latch, and it would not be considered a copyright infringement. it sucks for inventors and creative people who can engineer a product from scratch, but it happens, and it kinda keeps the market honest (maybe not this particular case with the bumper since there is already competition out there).

I feel bad that I even commented :/

I honestly don't really know what you're talking about. I get that somebody wants a bumper but apparently it's too expensive, I understand that you're justifying the cost of it but I completely missed what had been stolen? Somebody stole somebodies bumper design and jacked up the price like crazy on it?

We have this same problem here at work.

People will rip you off! It happens!

You just make a better product, don't charge an astronomical price, and it sells because it's better.

I'm legitimately torn on the bumper shit.
We won't sell our products to China and are even cautious about South America because they will steal your designs in a heartbeat. But if we cried every time we got ripped off, we'd go under. You move forward from it.

Yes, we charge 2-3x the competitor, but we over-engineer everything that ships out of here too. That said, the competitors design works just fine for what it costs, works the same as ours does, maybe just not last as long on the conveyor belt. That's the customer's choice!
